Visiting Hours

Fairview Hospital visiting policies are designed to allow for convenient visiting by family and friends. Allowing for privacy, care requirements and patient preferences are the critical elements that must be considered.

General Hours

Intensive Care Unit
9 a.m. - 11 a.m., 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. & 8 p.m. - 10 p.m.

Visiting hours are flexible on the remaining hospital floors.

Visitor Etiquette

  • Please limit the number of visitors (including children) to two at any one time.
  • Anyone with a cough, cold, sore throat or experiencing symptoms related to a contagious illness should avoid visiting a patient at the hospital.
  • Visitors under the age of 14 are not permitted to visit in critical care units.
  • Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
  • Visitors may be requested to leave the room if a procedure or care needs to be performed or in the event of an emergency situation.
  • It is the discretion of the nurse to limit the number of visitors and/or length of visiting time if it interferes with a patient’s rest and recovery.

Please allow 24 hours for email delivery Monday through Friday. Email sent after 4 p.m. on Friday will not be delivered until the following Monday. Email sent on holidays will not be delivered until the following weekday.

Visitor ID Badge

Cleveland Clinic has a Visitor Photo Badging System in its regional hospitals. Adult visitors need to show a valid photo ID to enter the hospital after normal visiting hours. Upon entering the Emergency Department entrance, visitors are given a badge that shows their name and photo, room destination and expiration date (extended badges are available). It must be worn on the outermost clothing.

Visitors who are unable to provide ID will not be denied entrance once the visit is confirmed, but they will be photographed.

A permanent visitor badge system was started to assure the safety and security of our patients, visitors, staff and physicians. The badge includes the visitor’s photo and in bold capital letters identifies the person as a VISITOR, VENDOR or OFFICIAL (with an oversight or regulatory agency). The badge includes the issue date, visitor name and hospital department they are visiting.

Visitors in the hospital from 7 p.m. - 7 a.m. Monday through Friday and 24 hours on the weekends and holidays must obtain a badge from the ParkView Information/Security Desk. Individuals in the hospital prior to 7 p.m., but staying for the evening or overnight are asked to go to the information desk to pick up a badge. Visitors accompanying Emergency Department patients will be issued a temporary badge. Visitor badges may be obtained at any time and extended badges are available.

Bicycle Racks
The bicycle racks are located on the first floor of our parking garage. They are available for both employees and visitors year round.



Parking Locations
For those coming to the hospital, a self-park garage is attached to the hospital.

For those coming to the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center at Fairview Hospital, Moll Pavilion, there is free surface parking in the Cancer Center lot.

Parking Rates
First hour of parking is free. Maximum fee per day is $8.

Parking Coupons
Coupons can be purchased at the main valet desk located at hospital main entrance between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.

  • 5-pack: $25
  • 7-day pass: $25
  • 30-day pass: $80

Valet Parking & Rates
Valet Service is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

  • $8 per day
  • $4 for senior citizens ages 65 and older
  • $4 for expectant mothers using Fairview Hospital prenatal and birthing services.
  • Free for Emergency Department visitors with discharge papers.

Security personnel are available at 216.476.4344 or extension 24344 for escort service 24 hours daily.

From 7 p.m. – 6 a.m. the main entrance of the hospital is closed and all visitors must enter through the Emergency Department or through the Parking Garage entrance.

Visitors are required to wear a visitor badge from 7 p.m. – 7 a.m. Monday-Friday and 24 hours a day on weekends.

Bedside Delivery of your Discharge Prescriptions
Fairview Hospital can fill your discharge prescriptions and deliver them to you or your family at the bedside. A member of the pharmacy staff will come to your bedside and collect the necessary information and work with your nursing staff to secure the needed prescriptions. The pharmacy accepts most insurance plans and can receive credit card payment at your bedside. As an alternative, your family can pick up your medications, if you direct us, at the pharmacy, where other forms of payment are accepted.

Spiritual Services
A chapel is located on the first floor of the hospital.
If you wish a visit from clergy of a particular faith or from your own pastor, priest, rabbi or imam, our office will assist you and can be reached at 216.476.7067 or extension 67067.

ATMs are located on the first floor of the hospital by the main entrance and outside the cafeteria.

The Ombudsman is the liaison between Fairview Hospital and the patient in resolving problems that may arise during the course of treatment. We recommend that patients first attempt to address their concerns with the department in which the problem occurred. If you do not reach a resolution with the person providing your care, we encourage you to contact the department manager or supervisor. If these attempts are unsatisfactory, call our Ombudsman Office from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, or you can leave a message anytime. Presenting a complaint does not in itself compromise a patient’s future access to care.

Inpatient Meals

The Food and Nutrition Services Department is pleased to offer you Room Service. We offer a wide variety of nutritious hot and cold choices throughout the day. Our menu also reflects the particular dietary restrictions you may be under at your physician’s request.

Meal Times
Meal times for patients vary throughout the hospital. However, you can expect meals to be served within the following time frames:

  • Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. - 8:30 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
  • Dinner: 4:30 p.m. - 5:30 p.m.

To Obtain a Menu and Place Your Order
Once your physician has prescribed your diet, please use your phone to call ext. 24400, and our nutrition representative will be happy to help you. Family members also may assist you with ordering your meal if needed. We will bring you a menu with your first meal or your nurse may provide one to you for ordering future meals.

Guest Meals

Guest meals are provided upon request. There is a $9 charge for breakfast and $10.50 for Lunch & Dinner. To request a guest tray, contact the nurse at least one half hour before mealtime.

  • Breakfast: Monday - Friday: 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. | Saturday - Sunday: 6:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.
  • Lunch: Monday - Sunday: 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
  • Dinner: Monday - Sunday: 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
  • Night Shift: Monday - Friday: 7 p.m. - Midnight

Other Dining Options

The cafeteria is open daily 6:30 a.m. - 6:30 p.m. and is located on the first floor of the hospital, near the gift shop. 

Java Express
Java Express is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. - 5 p.m. and is located in the hospital entrance via the parking garage, Java Express offers hot and cold beverages, baked goods, soup, sandwiches and snacks.

Vending areas are located on each floor, offering drinks and snacks.

At the Flower Shop you will find fresh cut floral arrangements, dry floral arrangements, balloons, plants and cookbooks. All proceeds fund patient and hospital services.

Located on the first floor by the surgery center, across from the pharmacy. The Gift Shop sells all different types of items to fit your needs including gift cards, baby items, teddy bears, candy, seasonal items and much more. All proceeds are donated back to the hospital to benefit patient care.
