Motor Scores Before and After Deep Brain Stimulation for Parkinson's Disease (N = 206)

In 2022-2023, 206 patients who underwent deep brain stimulation (DBS,) were assessed using the UPDRS-III before and after surgery while off and on medications. Higher numbers reflect worse symptoms. The median time to follow-up was 135 days (range, 63-364 days). The graph shows mean clinician-rated motor impairment severity ± 2 standard errors of the mean. There was a significant improvement in motor scores after surgery in the on-medication/on-stimulation state (P < 0.05).
