Transplant- Liver Kidney Pancreas

(Also Called 'Transplant- Liver Kidney/Pancreas')

The Cleveland Clinic liver transplant program involves experts in all areas of liver disease in the evaluation, management, treatment and follow-up of these patients. For more than twenty years, Cleveland Clinic surgeons have performed liver transplants. Remarkably, the program has steadily grown with 877 transplants performed by the end of 2005.

Additional program highlights include the living donor liver transplantation program as well as the use of non-heart-beating donors (donation after cardiac death). Both options alleviate the constant shortage of available organs and will help decrease the suffering and death of those that await life saving transplantation.

Finally, the Cleveland Clinic liver transplant program is a member of the Ohio Solid Organ Transplant Consortium (OSOTC) and the United Network For Organ Sharing (UNOS), meeting all their requirements for liver transplantation. The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services has certified Cleveland Clinic as a Medicare Center for liver transplantation, effective October 14, 1992.
