Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 4/1/2019, Dr. Leo has reported the financial relationships with the companies listed below. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. appointment was for 8am arrived at 7:30 and was in the room by 7:45 very professional and friendly best experience ever with a Dr appointment!

Dr Leo and staff were all very professional and nice. my only concern was getting thru on the phone to them. too many people and automated services to go thru to reach his office. but dr Leo, Francette white and Kelsey always worked with me once we connected.

Dr. Leo is a wonderful doctor. This was my first visit and I was very impressed. He took much time to explain my medical issues, gave me choices and helped me determine the best plan of treatment.

Reviewed on Apr 1, 2019

Dr. seemed knowledgable of my condition and suggested treatment seems reasonable. The doctor was late for appointment. Too overbooked. Too rushed. Overall, the doctor seemed to care and was mentally engaged.

Reviewed on Apr 1, 2019

Waited for about 90 minutes. Saw doctor for about 5 minutes.

Reviewed on Jan 9, 2019

Doctor Leo is one of the best communicators I've ever had the opportunity to deal with in a medical situation. His ability to clearly and succinctly put everything in layman's terms was refreshing, and my only regret is that his explanations and instructions were so appropriate for my condition that I probably won't see him again. You need to do whatever necessary to keep this person on your staff.

Reviewed on Nov 6, 2018

Dr. Leo and staff are kind, responsive and reassuring in the worst of times. Hope I don't fracture anything again, but Dr. Leo is the best.

Reviewed on Oct 3, 2018

I was very much impressed with Dr. Leo and his staff. I was really happy to be able to go to Cleveland Clinic since this is the first year they were included on my insurance. I am currently looking for a primary Dr. within the Cleveland clinic group.

Reviewed on Jul 16, 2018

overall very good except for 45 minute wait to see dr.

Reviewed on Jul 16, 2018

Reviewed on Jun 5, 2018

my views on wait times seems to be different than the medical industry's standard. if i make a 9:00 am appointment, my expectation is to see the physician around 9. if i need to be early to fill out paperwork, I do so, with the expectation of being seen by 9. being placed in an exam room to wait another 20-30 minutes for the doctor, is not what I perceive as a good wait time.

Reviewed on May 30, 2018

Although he didn't get into specifics on future care, Dr. Leo reassured me that my problem wasn't an orthopedic issue, and referred me to the spinal center for treatment of a pinched nerve.

Reviewed on May 30, 2018

I was checked in and sitting in the waiting area 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment. Dr. was perfectly on time. Excellent experience.

Reviewed on May 22, 2018
