Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 9/4/2018, Dr. Leo has reported the financial relationships with the companies listed below. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. This was 1st visit W/Dr Leo I felt confident with his judgement & will continue see him again, for the issue I had

Reviewed on Nov 6, 2018

Dr. Leo and staff are kind, responsive and reassuring in the worst of times. Hope I don't fracture anything again, but Dr. Leo is the best.

Reviewed on Oct 3, 2018

I was very much impressed with Dr. Leo and his staff. I was really happy to be able to go to Cleveland Clinic since this is the first year they were included on my insurance. I am currently looking for a primary Dr. within the Cleveland clinic group.

Dr. Bryan Leon is an excellent physician!!!

The team was well experienced who was in the operating room with Dr Leon.

Reviewed on Jul 16, 2018

overall very good except for 45 minute wait to see dr.

Reviewed on Jul 16, 2018

Reviewed on Jun 5, 2018

my views on wait times seems to be different than the medical industry's standard. if i make a 9:00 am appointment, my expectation is to see the physician around 9. if i need to be early to fill out paperwork, I do so, with the expectation of being seen by 9. being placed in an exam room to wait another 20-30 minutes for the doctor, is not what I perceive as a good wait time.

Reviewed on May 30, 2018

Although he didn't get into specifics on future care, Dr. Leo reassured me that my problem wasn't an orthopedic issue, and referred me to the spinal center for treatment of a pinched nerve.

Reviewed on May 30, 2018

I was checked in and sitting in the waiting area 10 minutes before my scheduled appointment. Dr. was perfectly on time. Excellent experience.

Reviewed on May 22, 2018

very difficult to get phone responses from doctor or his staff on the same or even next day when concerned about questions following surgery

Reviewed on May 18, 2018

Dr Brian Leo was Great! Listtened weel. Explained well. Was patient.

Reviewed on May 2, 2018

I'm not sure where this goes but Dr. Leo's office is very negligent in returning calls to patients. once I sent a message through MyChart and called twice the next day as I felt my concern was urgent. Three days later, I got a return call. another time, my call was never returned. otherwise, Dr. Leo is an excellent doctor.

Reviewed on May 1, 2018

Dr Leo's assistant is terrific, very helpful very nice. My son had major shoulder surgery and she was wonderful in working with my son

Reviewed on Apr 20, 2018

Dr Leo is a great doctor and a great surgeon! He is always very kind and very helpful and informative about the next steps that I need to take. He also always listens to my concerns, addresses them and makes sure that I am fully informed and that I do not have any questions before leaving his office.

Reviewed on Apr 20, 2018

I did not wait even 5 minutes after I checked in before I was taken back to a room. Once in the room I only waited about 5 minutes before seeing Dr. Leo.

Reviewed on Apr 11, 2018

I waited 1 hour and 55 minutes before seeing the physician. My appointment was before noon, so I was surprised he was running so behind schedule and it was not even lunchtime yet. He did not apologize for the wait and I assume he wanted to make up some time which is why he spent so little time with me.

Reviewed on Mar 30, 2018

Dr Leo answered all my questions/concerns and put my mind at easy

Reviewed on Feb 21, 2018

It felt like this doctor was talking to me physically but actually, thinking about a " different " patient with different scenario ! Disappointing to say in the least

Reviewed on Jan 29, 2018

I consulted with Dr. Leo for a second opinion. He was heads and shoulders above the provider that I previously saw for my issue (other provider is not affiliated with Cleveland Clinic.) Dr. Leo never made me feel rushed, he was very courteous and went out of his way to make sure I understood how he diagnosed me. I felt comfortable that he knew what he was doing. I'm so happy that my new insurance is accepted by Cleveland Clinic!
