Learned more from this one appointment for a second opinion, compared to my other doctor's 4 appointments. The first doctor left me with questions regarding treatment and did not officially confirm a diagnosis. I do realize there are multiple options in rheumatology, but I did not feel comfortable with her at all. Dr. Donohue on the other hand was patient and listened closely to my comments; he examined several areas of my concerns and gave quick and simple to understand information.

The day I saw Dr. Donohue, my left leg had blown up. HE was very concerned about this, especially because I had a Pulmonary Embolism last year during my chemo treatments. Once you have a PE, you become prone to them. Dr. Donohue had me go down to the ED, with strict instructions that I was not to start on any medications the doctor in the ED prescribed, before the bloodwork he prescribed for me was done. Luckily, I didn't have a PE, so no prescriptions were ordered for me.

Reviewed on Jul 3, 2018

Everyone is always very courteous and polite. The biggest issue with the Cleveland Clinic is the lack of parking. I live in Weston and would not object to a parking garage. There was a very long line to Valet and finding a parking spot during the day is almost impossible. When I went to check out, there was one lady in the back and several people waiting to check out. A gentleman did direct us to go out front and check out there. Dr. Donohue takes his time, answers questions and makes sure you understand everything. It does take a while to get an appointment with him, even if you are an existing patient.

Excellent Experience. I have been suffering from Rheumatoid Arthritis for a few years now. I have been going to various doctors in India but was unsure if they were treating me right. My condition was deteriorating instead of improving. I researched and found Dr.John P Donohue. He had great reviews. I decided to fly from India to the US to get a consultation from him. I called the Clinic and they were able to schedule me an appointment with him and I am so glad I came all the way from India to see him. Dr. Donohue was able to diagnose my situation right away and pointed me why my treatment from before was not working. He patiently explained to me everything and what I needed to do differently. Having a clear understanding of my situation itself was worth visiting him. He had me take a few tests and then recommended future treatment while working with my budget. He went out of his way to see me a couple of times even though his schedule was full. I am glad I visited him and really happy that doctors like him still exist who care for patients. I will wholeheartedly recommend him to anyone who is struggling with Arthritis or other Immune disorders.
