Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 9/29/2021, Dr. Hussain has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Everything was smooth and the atmosphere was a calming feeling as Dr Hussain reviewed and we both listened and I felt we both felt comfortable with the visit and review of tests.

Considering that Dr. Hussain and Cleveland Clinic was scheduled as a 2nd opinion, then after careful consideration, I decided to cancel surgeon assigned by my PCP and to see Dr. Hussain instead, for my neurological issue. It shows that my impression of professionalism, knowledge and empathy is well above average.

If this survey only accesses the care I've received from Dr. Hussein I will definitely give him the highest score possible. The man saved my life.

I eventually got to the right person, but went through 3-4 people before getting to someone who knew what to do when it was a diagnosis that I was seeking. I had given up. As an afterthought, I filed an fyi complaint, which was immediately followed up on. I was then immediately directed to the right office and right people, who were wonderful, knowledgeable and professional. It would seem like a very important gap to fill, ie for people seeking diagnostic expertise. PS The doctor line doesn't work either. My doctor tried that and said he did not get a response.

Fabulous! Brilliant! Extremely knowledgeable, professional, personable, caring, down to earth and practical. After having received contradictory opinions from neurologists in my home town, it was refreshing to hear what Dr Hussain thought and his recommendation going forward. I am confident that he is right. He shared the basis of his opinion with me in a way I could understand. I would definitely recommend him to family and friends should they ever need a doctor with his kind of expertise and would not hesitate to follow up if, per his invite should I ever have a question or something come up again!

He was absolutely amazing. He answered all of my questions and at any that my parents had. He was honest with me about any risks, but was still able to make me feel like everything was going to be fine. I had a very scary experience, but I was confident that everything would turn out well with him as my doctor.
