Dr. Patel began his career at the Weston campus in 2007 after completing the James A. Dickson Fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the Cleveland Clinic. His specialty interests include minimally invasive primary hip and knee replacements and complex revision surgery for the treatment of failed total joints. In his tenure at the Cleveland Clinic, Dr. Patel has developed one of the most respected and productive adult joint replacement centers in Florida. He was recently awarded the Health network Foundation’s Service Excellence Award and served as the Chair for the Arthritis Foundation’s Broward County Arthritis Walk.
Additionally, Dr. Patel is actively involved in the training of tomorrow’s physicians and researchers. He is the Director of the Adult Joint Reconstruction Fellowship at Cleveland Clinic Florida and has a joint appointment as Affiliate Assistant Professor of Clinical Biomedical Science at the Charles E. Schmidt College of Medicine at Florida Atlantic University. He co-developed the orthopaedic clinical research program at Cleveland Clinic Florida, which now actively trains multiple research fellows each year and has investigated a range of topics, including biomechanics, surgical approach, and blood management. These endeavors have led to numerous publications and presentations at the regional, national, and international level.
Dr. Patel earned his medical degree with honors from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 2001. He completed his general surgery internship and orthopaedic surgery residency training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2006 before heading to Cleveland to complete his fellowship training. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) and the American Association of Hip and Knee Surgeons (AAHKS).

Dr. Patel has replaced my right knee and both of my husband's knees. He always shows care and consideration, listens and explains very well. The reason for my visit this time was in concern of my right hip that Dr. Patel had replaced in 2020.

This place is so Professional and respectful since check in. I was so hot the check in Lady handed me her fan to cool off. I love her empathy and made me feel so comfortable. Now the rest great as well from the MA to the xray techs to the Dr. Once checking out never felt so happy on how the help was so excellent in scheduling my procedure. Mary Fran was terrific. I was in an examination room quickly and she guided me through every step for that day, from xrays to surgery registration. And Dr. Patel was wonderful. He was very thorough and presented all of my options.

The service I received was first class, it was easy to talk with my doctor and his assistant, the service was prompt, they explained clearly to me, why and when, I had my first knee replacement surgery with Dr.Patel and it is still holding after eight years and I am doing my next surgery with him again, I am very confident that he's one of the best doctors at the Cleveland clinic and therefore is an excellent asset to your organization.

I Really liked my previous surgeon, Dr Geico that moved to Martin County, FL. I was referred to Dr Patel who impressed me with his complete knowledge of my case & his REAL CONCERN for me as reflected in his bedside manner. Dr Patel took the time to listen/answer all my questions/concerns. I am very impressed. At no time did I feel RUSHED. NOTE: All of my questions/concerns we addressed.

Cr. Patel examined my knee thoroughly, listened to all my questions and concerns, reviewed my x-rays, and thoroughly explained what was going on. He assuaged fears that I had about possible damage to the knee. He also answered a number of questions I had about the condition going forward. Dr. Patel is a great doctor.

Nurse was excellent!Dr told me he could not do the surgery until my A1C was 7.5. He did not explain why I had no pain in the hip. I only have pain in the groin and thigh.

I am beyond upset about how I was treated and the report written is not factual. I would like to speak to head of the department. Very disturbing no one examined me doctor spent less than 3 minutes with me did zero exam and yet medical report failed reports an exam that never occured. Please have a supervisor call me. I'm so upset

Dr Preetch Patel had always been very professional and he performed all my orthopedic surgeries, both knees and left hip. I thought I was going to need my right hip done and I would not allow any one else perform the surgery, but right now I need to relieve the bursitis inflammation. I will not go to any other orthopedic surgeon.

My TKR from 2018 is perfect, and I see that Dr. Patel has since made his practice more thorough and efficient. Some knee surgeons think that no robot could be as good as they are, but Dr Patel uses the Mako robot to support his skills as a surgeon and thereby give the patient a better chance for an excellent outcome.
