Dr. Robert Stein has always been remarkably polite and attentive to me. He is truly a gentleman by his nature with decent and polite manners. He naturally has a sympathetic understanding that cheers me up with reassurance of his keen interest in me and his own consummate skill. Last Friday, Sept 27 he used his own personal cellphone to call me from at about 9PM to give me the reports of the prostrate MRI I did earlier in the day. He spoke extensively to me in his soft voice to reassure me of the prompt treatment he would give me to stop any aggressive development of my slow-growing prostate cancer he diagnosed in 2014. During his talk to me, he gave me urgent appointments for Oct 4 & 11. He also cheerfully assured me to feel free to call him at his cellphone whenever I've cause to. This is an illustration of how he has been treating to me most attentively in a very caring manner. I'm just lucky and happy to have him as my urologist, and I'll always endlessly be grateful to him.

Dr Stein is wonderful doctor and person!

Reviewed on Sep 24, 2019

Dr. Stein was very courteous, attentive, and caring when our visit had started. However, he was paged multiple times during our appointment. He had to leave the room two times. When he left the second time, he did not return. Our whole appointment lasted for a little less than half an hour where it was scheduled for an hour. Then, I believe, his assistant (don't remember her name) arrived and told us that he had to leave to attend to an urgent surgery, and she said, Dr. Stein asked us to come back two days later where he will have to get the analysis of my CT scans and MRI from medical and radiation oncologists. We told his assistant that we have some unanswered questions, and whether we could talk to him later in the day. I believe we also told her that we were traveling from Dayton, OH, and we wanted to get as much information as we can during our visit, and wanted to avoid another trip to Cleveland. She told us that is not possible due to Dr. Stein being in surgeries all day, and the day after, and there is nothing else that can be done, and repeated telling us to come back two days later. After that, we left the room. We wanted to talk to somebody else and relay our concerns and questions. We saw Jewel, who we believe is one of Dr. Stein's nurses, in the hall way, and explained our concerns. We told her that we had come all the way from Turkey to Cleveland Clinic for a second opinion and traveled from Dayton for this visit, and have unanswered questions and our discussions have not been completed, and whether there is anything that can be done while we are still in Cleveland. We told her that we were willing to stay overnight if anything can be done the next day. Jewel was very caring and showed a lot empathy for our situation. She immediately paged Dr. Stein and had us talk to him over the phone two times. We explained all our concerns to Dr. Stein on the phone while he told us that he still is in a surgery. He said he understood our situation, and told us that he would schedule appointments for us with medical and radiation oncologists the next day, and that he would finalize a treatment plan the next day. He indeed was able to schedule those visits, and I was seen by those doctors the next day. Although, we still could not see Dr. Stein the next day, because he was in surgeries, we called him and talked to him later in the evening, and he was able to answer our questions on the phone. We feel that although our visit has not started ideally and interrupted due to an urgent surgery, and Dr. Stein's surgery schedule, we appreciate that he understood and was emphatic to our concerns, and was able to rectify the situation later, and formed a treatment plan working with the radiation and medical oncologists. We are also very thankful to Jewel who was very understanding and instrumental in helping us get in touch with Dr. Stein.
