Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 6/20/2018, Dr. Molloy has reported the financial relationships with the companies listed below. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. MD just told me to do physical therapy 5 times a week for 6 months and come back to see him if there is no improvement. Physical therapy is the answer to everything.

I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes to see Dr. Molloy, checking twice with the desk on how much longer I would have to wait. When I was finally called the nurse had a chip on her shoulder when I said how long I had waited. But once I got in Dr. Molloy appeared very quickly, assessed my problem and offered me relief in a cortisone shot . The shot has relieved my knee problem greatly.

I was first greeted by his nurse, then I was examined by his Orthopedic doctor and then I saw Dr. Molloy. Dr. Molloy and staff always take their time with my appointments and answer any questions that I may have thoroughly. He and his staff are the best!

Avon is very far from us but very much wanted to see Dr. Molloy. EVERYTHING once we got there was exceptional, especially Dr. Molloy who I found to be a very knowledgeable, compassionate and relatable physician. I will be having him do my needed surgery and I would highly recommend him.

My experience was good. I had to go down to Cleveland Clinic downtown so it was a long way. Dr Molloy said I can see him at his Avon office after this. Much closer for me. Everything was good I have no complains.

Discussed with Dr. Molloy a treatment I am considering. We discussed the pros and cons and he gave me his personal opinion on it, but admitted that he wasn't thoroughly versed in the procedure. I still feel comfortable with my plan of action.

Dr Molloy is top notch physician and surgeon. He and his staff have been nothing but kind, professional and extremely accommodating. The Clinic should find itself extremely lucky to have a staff such as this. I will always highly recommend Dr Molloy to anyone that is in need of a knee or hip replacement.

Cleve Clinic Avon is a jamming place. My appt. was scheduled in Feb. when Imhad surgery, yet we waited over an hour to go in and speak with nurse. Dr. arrived in the cam room 15-20 minutes later. Along wait BUT Dr. Molloy is very thorough and open to questions from patients. I think the wait was worth his care and advice. I have many friends w knee replacements that have had subsequent surgeries for scar tissue, blood clots, and infections. I followed Dr. Molloy's protocols and hav been on target w recovery. My overall appreciation for a job well done is at maximum. Everyone I came in contact with was knowledgeable, efficient, and pleasant. Well done!
