Biography

About Augusto Hsia, Jr., MD

Augusto Tan Hsia, Jr., MD,CCD is on Staff at the Center for Spine Health at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus. He accepted that appointment in 2006 after being the chairman of the Department of Internal Medicine and a physician of internal medicine and rheumatology at North Shore Medical , Door County Memorial Hospital Wisconsin

His clinical interests include acute and chronic back pain, failed back surgery syndrome, spondyloarthropathies ,lumbar canal stenosis, metabolic bone disease/bone optimization for spinal deformity

He received his Doctor of Medicine degree from St. Louis University in Baguio City, Philippines, and completed a postgraduate internship at Medical Center Manila, Philippines. Dr. Hsia completed a residency in internal medicine at New York University Veterans Affairs Medical Center and a fellowship in clinical transplant at University Hospital of the State University of New York, Stony Brook, N.Y. He completed two fellowships at Cleveland Clinic; one in rheumatology & immunology, and the other in medical spine.

A follow on in person meeting was scheduled because Dr Hsiao did feel he had sufficient Information to provide a good diagnosis without an in-person meeting. This is why some I did not feel that I could answer all questions.

I felt the doctor could of took my concern about one of my problems with a little bit more concern. I understand that it was a first visit and there is more procedures to go through yet but I still have the same problem that causes a lot pain for me.

I had to wait over a month to get into see the Dr so my back issue was releaved by my appointment. I will still go to PT as suggested to prevent future flair ups.

He had read my file from another medical provider and was well versed before the visit. He listened and came up with a plan. He is open to including other medical professionals if needed.
