Vidyasagar Kalahasti, MD, is Director, Marfan Syndrome & Connective Tissue Disorder Clinic, a member of the Aorta Center, and a staff cardiologist in the Section of Cardiovascular Imaging and the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, at the Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute at Cleveland Clinic.
He is board-certified in internal medicine, Cardiovascular disease and National Board of Echocardiography.
In addition to office visits, Dr. Kalahasti also offers scheduled follow up virtual visits to select patients, through the Cleveland Clinic Express Care ® Online app. This platform allows patients to see their physician live, using their smartphone, tablet or computer.

Education and Training: A native of India, Dr. Kalahasti received his medical degree from the University of Health Sciences Sri Venkateswara Medical College in Tirupati, A.P., India, graduating with distinction. He did a rotating internship at S.V.R. R. Government General Hospital in Tirupati, A.P. India. He followed this with an internship and residency in internal medicine at Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Kalahasti then accepted a fellowship in cardiovascular disease from Cleveland Clinic. After that, he did advanced cardiac imaging fellowship in Echo and cardiovascular CT.
Research, Publications, and Speaking: Dr. Kalahasti has co-authored book chapters on his specialty interests. He has published several articles in leading medical journals on his clinical experience of cardiovascular disease and presented abstracts at international conferences. Dr. Kalahasti is a member of the American College of Cardiology, the American Heart Association, the American Society of Echocardiography(ASE) and the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT).

I tried a cardio doctor and facility here in Kansas and after repeated bad experiences, I have returned to Cleveland Clinic. Even though it is a lot of time and money for travel, I will continue to return and recommend Cleveland Clinic to anyone who will listen. Your staff should put on training seminars for the Kansas medical field.

I've had many different cardiologists over the years and most tend to be aloof or indifferent. Dr Kalahasti is very different; he takes the time to really explain what's going on, explain test results and trends, and answer questions completely and in terms that the patient understands. In 20 years I've never had a more clear explanation of my condition, what I can expect and what the options might include.

Highly recommend Dr. Kalahasti and Cleveland Clinic cardiac care in general. Dr Kalahasti rescheduled appt to the end of the day to ensure all labs and imaging results were available prior to our visit which we had also requested. Really appreciate the accommodation. He is also attentive and explained everything well, especially as we were reviewing the CT and Echo scans.

No phone calls. Angie in echo is wonderful as is Dr k. Your. EKG Technicians left for lunch with waiting room full took me 1 hour and 15 minutes for 5 minute procedure. It was terrible.

It had been more than two years since I had seen Dr. Kalahasti, so I was scheduled to see him before my echocardiogram, which caused my appointment to be long because I was rescheduled to get the echo first after I arrived.

I called as soon as I got the letter to schedule. I was supposed to be seen in April. I was told Dr. Kalahasti was booked through June and the next schedule was not out, call back in two weeks. I did this twice and then messaged Dr. Kalahasti. He got me in May 1st by double booking my appointment. You need to fix this.

Dr Kalahasti has been my doctor for the past 12 years. He has been amazing!! He has always been easy to reach and keeps up with my care. This past year he found that my aortic valve and aortic root were in need of repair. He was on top of making sure that I was taken care of. He was available even when I had a post op side effect and went into atrial flutter. He helped to guide the doctors at the local hospital and kept up to date on my condition. He truly is an amazing doctor and trust him unconditionally with my care. There needs to be more doctors like him!

As a Marfans Syndrome patient with abnormal habitus, I will continue to drive from Columbus to CC as a local provider refused a scheduled Echocardiogram and stated I do not have Marfans despite my CC genetic history on file. I appreciate that CC understands that not all Marfs are 6-7ft tall. Kalahasti is the most patient and kind physician I have EVER encountered. He is simply the best.
