Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

Dr. Lystad figured out the problem immediately. She is courteous, brilliant and personable. I am grateful that I could see her. Two other ophthalmologists were stymied.

dr. lystad was wonderful. she changed my life. this appt was a second opinion and I wish I had seen her originally.while my clinical outcome was the same, she offered hope, information, and a useful referral. losing partial sight was devastating and she provided a path forward and most importantly, action and hope. while it's unlikely my sight will be fully restored I know there are things I can do to manage it. while I hope that many people won't need a neuro opthamologist, I would highly recommend her for anyone who does need one.

Dr Lystad is a wonderful clinician. I have been getting the run around for 6 months from The Clinic concerning my eye diagnosis. She, with thoughtfulness and clarity, explained my condition and steps to take forward.

I believe it took 75-90 minutes before I saw Dr Lystat. I left waiting room in reasonable amount of time. Then saw nurse, then waited and waited. Then I saw a resident; then waited and waited. Then saw Dr. Lystat. She was great; listened asked questions and gave great advice. I highly recommend her. However the efficiency of the appointment was poor. I was also fortunate to call to schedule appointment when someone else had just cancelled. Otherwise, a two month wait would have been worthless.

*Dr. Lystad is absolutely amazing. She is obviously very busy with patients but always makes us feel like we are her most important ones. She is friendly and discusses everything openly. While it takes awhile to get in for an appointment, she never makes us feel rushed during the appointment.

Dealing with Dr. Lisa Lystad was one of the best physican/patient experiences I have had. During her examination she identified the cause of my vision problems (the cause was not in her sub-specialty of neuro-Ophthalmology, but she spotted it when all previous doctors had missed it), clearly described the problem and carefully and fully explained how to treat it. I am super-pleased with her and her services.

This was an emergent situation relative to loss of vision, it was impossible to get seen by a neuro-opthmalogist after release from an overnight stay in the ER. fortunately there was a cancellation in the schedule and I had the good fortune of seeing DR. Lystad!
