Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 10/20/2018, Dr. Lystad has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. I believe it took 75-90 minutes before I saw Dr Lystat. I left waiting room in reasonable amount of time. Then saw nurse, then waited and waited. Then I saw a resident; then waited and waited. Then saw Dr. Lystat. She was great; listened asked questions and gave great advice. I highly recommend her. However the efficiency of the appointment was poor. I was also fortunate to call to schedule appointment when someone else had just cancelled. Otherwise, a two month wait would have been worthless.

Dr. Lystad is wonderful and has always been extremely informative--even sharing with me pictures of the MRI to show me the area of concern.

Dealing with Dr. Lisa Lystad was one of the best physican/patient experiences I have had. During her examination she identified the cause of my vision problems (the cause was not in her sub-specialty of neuro-Ophthalmology, but she spotted it when all previous doctors had missed it), clearly described the problem and carefully and fully explained how to treat it. I am super-pleased with her and her services.

This was an emergent situation relative to loss of vision, it was impossible to get seen by a neuro-opthmalogist after release from an overnight stay in the ER. fortunately there was a cancellation in the schedule and I had the good fortune of seeing DR. Lystad!

I had to wait a while to see the doctor after my initial talk and exam by nurse but I assumed that the doctor was busy with another patient. this seemed reasonable and I was not upset. I always bring a book to a doctors visit.

Dr. Lisa Lystad and her staff were wonderful. I really felt she took the time and addressed everything and explained to me what is going on. I would and have already recommended Dr. Lystad to friends and family. I'm so blessed to have the World Class care of the Cleveland Clinic in my backyard. Thank you for everything!

I love my eye doctor. Dr. Lystad is excellent and I am willing to wait for her. However, I had to wait 60 days for an appointment with her. That's why I rated some areas as less than perfect. I checked in at the Kiosk so did not interact with staff in the registration area. When I went to make my next appointment, only one clerk was on duty and, while she made the appointment efficiently, she acted as if she wanted to be somewhere else. She never smiled or looked me in the eye. Just made the appointment and sent me on my way.

Dr. Lystad is excellent with the care to my disabled son. She respects us and treats us with courtesy and kindness. She always offers us explanations to everything she does and answers all question thoroughly. She is an amazing doctor and I am so fortunate that she was referred to care for my son.

Her bedside manner is wonderful! However, it seemed like she didn't look at my test results before she came in. She assured me that I probably don't have anything to worry about, and then looked at my test results and eyes, and then said that I'd lose more vision. Maybe she knew the extent of my condition beforehand, but it seemed like she thought I was a "regular" case when I'm an exceptional case, and her assurances at first may have been misleading if she was uninformed.
