Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 11/13/2021, Dr. Lashner has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr. Lashner gave me an answer to my mystery pain. He didn't really cover the risks involved which probably were secondary to the fact I was there for a consult and not to schedule treatment. He did give me what I came here for and was very confident in his medical opinion which I did appreciate.

Discussing my concerns about symptoms that I experience and my suggested course of changing medication, Dr. Lashner was very receptive. His comments about me, the patient, knowing my body better than anyone when I made the suggestion allowed for me to recognize that he has my best interest at heart.

The video visit was a great experience as I did not have to drive two hours one way, wait for 45 minutes to see the doctor and then only spend 10 minutes with him as is the normal course of action when it in person visit occurs.

Dr. Lashner is an amazing doctor and has met every expectation I have had regarding my care and treatment at the Cleveland Clinic. When I first came to the Cleveland Clinic I saw Dr. Anthony Senagore. He helped get me on track and then he turned my care over to Dr. Lashner. I have been seeing Dr. Lashner since July 2000. I have not looked back or regretted that decision in any way during the last 21 years! He is the reason I am doing as well as I am. Chrohns is an evil disease, but he has helped make it more manageable.

My referring provider & I both sent my medical records to Cleveland Clinic as requested. Dr. Lashner had not looked at ANY of my records before my appointment. He said I didn't have any records there & I told him I brought everything that had been faxed. I showed him the envelope and records that Cleveland Clinic had mailed back to me. He said, "Maybe they're under scanned documents." He looked & they all were there. I would have liked for him to have had some knowledge of my problems before I was seen by him. I was very disappointed.
