Allan Siperstein, MD, is Chair of Endocrine Surgery at Cleveland Clinic. He also serves as Program Director for the General Surgery Residency Program and Endocrine Surgery Fellowship.
Dr. Siperstein completed his medical school training at the University of Texas, Southwestern Medical School at Dallas, and his general surgery residency and endocrine surgery training at the University of California, San Francisco. From 1990 until 1999 he was a Faculty member in the Department of General Surgery at the University of California, San Francisco. Since then he has been a Staff member at Cleveland Clinic. In addition to endocrine surgery, he has had a long interest in minimally invasive surgery and surgical sonography. Since 1992, he has been teaching coursework in intraoperative and laparoscopic ultrasound techniques.
Current research interests include thyroid and parathyroid disease, in particular molecular markers for the identification of thyroid cancers. Clinical studies have focused on minimal incision approaches to thyroid and parathyroid surgery. He has had a long interest in the development of technologies for laparoscopic thermal ablation of hepatic tumors. Current studies continue to focus on technical advances in this area, as well as the impact of the procedure on long-term survival. He is a member of many surgical organizations, including the American Surgical Association, the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons and SAGES.

Both Dr. Siperstien and his fellow Dr.Tiffany Sinclair were both amazing!! I came in with questions and a bit of nervousness and they both put my mind at ease. The questions I had in mind, they both answered w/o me even having to ask. I honestly can say out of all my visits within the Cleveland Clinic Dr. Eperstien office from check-in, to triage to nurse Maureen rooming me, to meeting the fellow Dr. Sinclair and Dr. Siperstein was a pleasure!!! I left feeling at peace with the descion of foregoing surgery. I can go on and on but you get the picture:) #theyaregreat

Dr. Siperstein was absolutely wonderful!!! Great sense of humor and the best bedside manner. He explains things so that it is very easy to understand and makes you feel totally at ease. On a previous visit his other nurse Maureen was also just fantastic!! I called her several times before my procedure and she is just a sweetheart!! The staff at the front office was also very friendly snd very helpful. My whole experience was just wonderful. I was very nervous and quite scared about the surgery, afterward I felt totally safe and calm during my stay.

overall the appt. scheduling is fine. but when it comes to the Doctors letting my doctors in Toledo to know the info. it wasnt happening. I'm also awaiting an appt. to be scheduled for the gastrologist appt. since 7/22/20. I know with all that's going on w/ coronavirus outbreak, which slow things down. My last visit was good. my doctor explain everything to me.

I have been coming to Cleveland Clinic for about six years to get thyroid nodules looked at. This was the first time, I was told since they were biopsied I was good they are not like colon polys that can not turn cancerous . That is a relief all this time, I thought they could become cancerous. Thank you, Doctor Siperstein.
