Leopoldo Arosemena, MD is a transplant hepatologist who joined Cleveland Clinic Weston Hospital in December 2023. He graduated from the University of Panama School of Medicine in 1998 and completed his residency in internal medicine at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital in 2002. He then pursued a fellowship in gastroenterology at the same institution, followed by a fellowship in hepatology and liver transplantation at the Miami Institute of the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he also worked as an assistant professor of medicine from 2006 to 2012. He was appointed as the Medical Director of the liver transplant center at Broward General Medical Center in 2008 and held that position until 2012. He is a frequent speaker at local and international conferences on topics related to liver diseases and transplantation and has published more than 50 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters on these subjects.

The initial assistant lab tech was not able to get a good reading and was concerned with the readings. She went and returned with another assistant who also had issues getting a good reading due to my rib bones in relation to getting a good scan of my liver. They both spent time and were so kind, professional and patient.

Dr. Arosemena was very clear in explaining what the plan would be. He was pleasant, he took his time explaining what was next move will be. He listened to my questions and he answered them. Dr. Arosemena is the best doctor I have ever seen! He explained the progress of my treatment thus far, and discussed the remaining treatments. He took the time to answer all of my questions fully and he made recommendations for a healthier lifestyle moving forward.
