Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 4/1/2022, Dr. Mangie has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. I was having major complications after my extractionand staffing did the best they can but the next available appoint wasn't until weeks later. After making multiple phone calls and even having another dentist office call in, I was able to get an appointment the next day. My visit with the doctor was great, glad he was able to squeeze me in the next day and correct the problem. But scheduling was a pain.

Dr Mangie was punctual and examined my tongue carefully for any signs of cancer. Noting a soft, whitish area on the left side he saw no immediate need for a biopsy, but did want to see me again to examine it in 6 months. Made that appointment before I left. Very easy and reassuring.

Dr. Mangie is the absolute best. He always explains everything and recommends treatment

Dr. Mangie was not only knowledgeable and a good communicator, but he cared a lot about how I felt and what I thought. He didn't just look at the numbers on the chart but listened to what I told him about how I felt and what my preferences were for solutions. And then he incorporated those things into the treatment plane. I would wholeheartedly recommend Dr. Mangie to anyone else with a similar issue, or any issue he treats for that matter.

I have had an extended course of care, the surgical part of which has been under the direct supervision of Dr. Mangie. I'm not sure I'm qualified to measure the quality of his surgical skills, but I believe them to be very high. His care and concern for me as a patient has been outstanding. I believe he really cares for me as a person. He asks about my personal well being. He has advocated for me in a long and difficult Medicare approval process and I am very appreciative of his determination in that regard. I believe he is an outstanding doctor.

Dr. Mangie is very good at responding to my My Chart questions, often doing it with a personal phone call. I very much appreciate that. More generally, the ability to reach a human being in a doctor's office is an ongoing problem with all of the Clinic's doctors.
