Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 8/15/2019, Dr. Subramaniam has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. I believe that Dr. Ghandi Subramaniam is a top notch neurosurgeon. He operated on me several months ago and eliminated my pain. I was able to walk more straight too. He about eliminated my scoliosis. I fell and hurt myself again and am experiencing severe pain. I saw him and his physicians assistant last week. He said that he can't find what is causing the pain. I will now try for a 2nd opinion at University Hospital if I can get an appointment soon. I really have to do something.

have and will continue to recommend Dr Subramanian

Although it was a telephone visit,Dr.Subrahaniam was very informative of the problem I am having with my cervical spine.

Reviewed on Feb 18, 2020

Doctor explained everything in detail to help me understand my issue and his best course of treatment.

Reviewed on Feb 7, 2020

Dr. Subramaniam was very thorough in discussing options for treatment as well as expectations for after treatment results. Explanations were clear and understandable. He was willing to take any necessary time to address any/all questions. Also took an interest in me, what I do and how the chosen treatment plan will affect me.

Best Physician I have encountered in years. what a true professional and excellent surgeon

Reviewed on Jan 16, 2020

dr didn't seem to take what I was saying into account at all. I want a second opinion.

I have recommended Dr. Ghandi to several people

I loved. the doctor, he was kind and caring.

Reviewed on Oct 29, 2019

the care provider did not listen to my concerns and focused on my pre-visit questionnaire about anxiety. His visit notes were not an accurate reflection of the visit. no discussion of findings occurred nor did the provider return after he discussed his findings with his colleague. He seemed nice and caring but there were clear miscommunications.

Reviewed on Oct 29, 2019

after reading the visit note, I'm unsure where the miscommunication happened since I filled out a questionnaire, spoke to a nurse, and was assessed by a PA prior to the primary care provider entering the room.

Reviewed on Oct 15, 2019

Great experience with Dr G....did not feel rushed...explained everything thoroughly.

Reviewed on Oct 8, 2019

Doctor is somewhat hard to understand, and is quick to talk and respond to questions, without really giving patient time to talk. PA is easier to talk to and listens.

I really like and respect Dr. Subramamian. He treats you with the utmost respect and never "blows off" your concerns or treats you like your pain or issues aren't real. He works to resolve them.

Reviewed on Sep 20, 2019

Dr. Subramaniam was very polite and caring. Hdid explain my problem. My concern is that I don't have a clear understanding yet of the surgical steps to correct it or the risks involved in the surgery. I do know that surgery is the only cure but what will be cut, removed or reworked is not clear. I will admit that I don't think I asked very good questions either.

Reviewed on Sep 20, 2019

Dr Subramanian was great. All of the staff was very professional and courteous. my only issue was that I waited in the operating room for over an hour before I saw the doctor

Reviewed on Aug 29, 2019

I was very satisfied with my whole ordeal. Getting my appointment scheduled and closer to me, then getting the MRI scheduled within 2 weeks and fairly close to me. I am truly grateful for the way things worked out for me. My doctor was right on track. He listened to me and told me what 2as going to happen next. So far so good. Thank You, Cleveland Clinic and Dr Gandi Subermanium.
