Grew up in a small suburb of Philadelphia, I would later go to both college and medical school in the City of Brotherly love. Moved south to Baltimore to complete my residency at the Johns Hopkins Hospital receiving world class training that I would continue once again in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania. Obtaining second to none training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine, along with research and clinical trial development, I would obtain specialized training in lung transplantation medicine along with advanced lung disease management within Penn's Transplant Institute with an additional fellowship therein. I was recruited by the Cleveland Clinic in Autumn 2013, being dual appointed in the Respiratory Institute's Critical Care and Pulmonary Medicine Sections with a specific focus in Lung Transplant Medicine.
My career has evolved during the last decade thanks in large part to a supportive culture present in our Institute. I have been fortunate to build a practice of subspecialized post-transplant adults with cystic fibrosis. I have led quality improvement teams geared towards the betterment of the transition of care from the referring CF Adult Center to the Lung Transplant Program and back, designing a shared care paradigm to improve post-transplant outcomes along with patient and provider experience. Utilizing Telehealth before a global pandemic popularized the modality, I had been utilizing remote patient monitoring and virtual visits for patient education, interim check-ups before in-person visits and to help improve access to care for my patients living hundreds, even thousands of miles away. I now serve as the Telehealth Advocate for the Respiratory Institute helping push the envelope of possibilities in this medium. I am passionate about medical education and was blessed with the opportunity to start Cleveland Clinic's first Pulmonary Transplant Medicine Fellowship, training the next generation of transplant pulmonologists - like myself. In 2023, I began serving as the Interim Director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program with an aim to unite our fully accredited Adult CF Center and newly accredited Pediatric CF Center under one continuum, providing truly world-class care under One Cleveland Clinic. It has been an honor and privilege to be a part of this organization.
