Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

He was so confusing. When he went to leave the room, he asked me if his plan was OK. I did not really understand the plan, so I hesitated. He then asked again if it was OK, but he said it as if he was talking to a child. I just replied yeah, OK. He said nothing about an ultrasound. Then the nurse came back in and said that he wanted me to get an ultrasound. I went to this provider previously, and my recollection was that he was good. So I was surprised that my appointment was hurried after waiting for a week or two to get in. Perhaps he was running behind, but I was pretty shocked at his dismissal of my concerns with my arm and his attitude towards me generally. I plan on finding another provider and will not be getting the ultrasound or the medication he prescribed because he lost my trust.

I saw Dr. Genin in 2015 for a hamstring injury and came back to see him for a different injury and I cannot say enough great things about him. He takes his time and explains what he wants to do and why. He answers all questions without making you feel like you are being rushed and has excellent bedside manner. There are many doctors I could choose from in the Pittsburgh area where I live however the care I receive and confidence from Dr. Genin I have received from my past appointment in 2015 and presently is worth the 2 hour drive! So I thank you!

While the doctor was thorough in his exam and explanation I sensed immediately he was rushing to get to the next patient to stay on schedule. I had questions but I was not given the opportunity after his exam to ask them. The doctors are now too rushed requiring them to see too many patients per day.
