Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 8/7/2017, Dr. Srivastava has reported the financial relationships with the companies listed below. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. To learn more about Cleveland Clinic's policies on collaborations with industry and innovation management, go to our Integrity in Innovation page.

Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. The waiting area could be more attractive and more spacious and have up-dated seating. I think the way I was taken care by the students who saw me and Dr. Sri himself was outstanding.

wonderful care provider...Dr Srivastava is extremely personable and concerned about my health problems. Very reassuring and confident of diagnosis. Highly recommend him for any eye problems!

it's always uplifting to come to the clinic! when I walk through the door I know my doctor is going to do his best to help me because he seems to genuinely care. he feels like family and I'm always happy to see him. he is straightforward and reassuring with confidence and caring. His nurse Kim is just as dedicated and always with a smile. I've had two friends who have seen him because of my positive experience. I think the music, harp and recently cello , is soothing and calming. wonderful!! please keep that up!! I love the clinic and would recommend it and my great doctor to everyone with eye issues. he's the best!

The doctor requested that I schedule a follow up visit in 3 weeks to check the med dosage. The earliest date available was 7 weeks. Not sure what to do about the dosage of medication after 3 weeks if I can not get an earlier appt.

Dr. Shrivastava is a very important asset to the Cleveland Clinic. his empathy, compassion and clear competence in his specialty is comforting in a difficult situation.

Reviewed on Jul 5, 2018

I do not feel Dr. Srivastava REALLY understands how troublesome it is to me to have this constant fuzziness and feeling as if something is in my eyes all the time nor knows how to make it stop. All I ever hear is "Dry Eyes" and the medications he prescribes does not help so, he sends me to a colleague. I am so frustrated from not having clear vision like before. I often think it is possible to go somewhere closer and get better care...who knows....I am just so frustrated with his nonchalant disposition with my aggravating condition in my eyes.

Reviewed on Jul 5, 2018

I do not think the Dr. really truly listens. I think they just go off the tests results and do not actually LISTEN to your concerns or discomforts.

Reviewed on Jul 5, 2018

The Dr., Fellow or what ever they are that comes in to see you before the actual Dr., at least at my last visit, was rude and very unfriendly. It is aggravating to hear that person's assessment to then have the Dr. completely discount their findings and opinion and then send you to yet another Dr. I am just so aggravated.

I had an amazing experience at the Cleveland clinic, I received the best care and everyone was professional and worked on behalf of my recovery. I'm greatful to have had such a wonderful Dr and his staff couldn't have taken any better care of me,.Sincerely,T Chik

Knowing you are in the right place with the right doctor helps a great deal with the fear of taking and waiting for test results and your doctor's opinion concerning your health problem. Having a rare eye condition with no cure I need a place and a doctor I can check off all the above as I did. I also like my doctor as he truly seems to care.

The Dr. was very clear about what we were looking at and what had to be done. While I was hoping for a resolution and final diagnosis that day, it was not to be had and he explained why.

Reviewed on Dec 21, 2017

not only were the Courteous but they were quick....they got my next appointment quick and we were able to get out of there much more quickly than I expected.
