Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 2/10/2023, Dr. Kominsky has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr. Kaminsky was great - really nice guy, down-to-earth, good sense of humor. He did a great job of explaining things and answering questions. He inspired confidence in our choice of him as a provider

I was happy to see Dr K was accompanied by a student. His thoroughness and good bedside manner should be taught to the next generation of professionals.

Dr was very cold with little bedside manner he made me feel like I had no problem at all and my visit was a waste of his time

Dr Kaminsky is an expert in his field. He understood why I was requesting the Inspire Implant. Unfortunately, I am not a candidate for the implant procedure at this time.

Very good encounter with the physician and the resident physician.Very pleased.

Reviewed on Dec 5, 2022

I do not think my care provider provided me enough details about my issue. It did not seem genuine, more so felt judged.

Reviewed on Oct 28, 2022

Dr. Kominsky and his partner, Dr. Nag, I believe, were very respectful and carefully presented the options. I was surprised by their assessment that I was not a suitable candidate for the Implant because I did not show strong symptoms. That left me with some mixed feelings.

Reviewed on Oct 28, 2022

Dr. Kominsky was friendly and knowledgeable about hypersomnia and sleep apnea. I was referred by Dr. Stalker from Neurocare in Canton, OH. Dr. Stalker told me that Dr. Kominsky might recommend an implant. Dr. Kominsky did not recommend an implant. As I was there for a second opinion, Dr. Kominsky said emphatically I should try the sleep apnea treatment again.

Very pleased with the doctor's assessment and his explanation of problem so I could understand
