Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 11/2/2020, Dr. Giraldo has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Dr Juan Giraldo is by far the worst doctor I have ever come across...No greetings and extremely rude when approached me in his consulting room...He was indifferent and dismissive of my concern He didn't ask any questions about my health issues and just referred me to another Dr.I hope not to see this Dr again. I don't recommend him at all.

My experience was extremely bad. The doctors approach was not about giving care to the patient and left the patient in a position of danger. This first time I had ever experience such reluctance to help a patient in urgent need of help.
Reviewed on Jul 23, 2020
the doctor did not care about the dangerous situation I was in due to my dependency for treatment. The goal was to get me out of his office because my situation did not line up with how he will maximize his payout for service.

The staff and doctor are amazing. An opportunity for improvement us to double check the paperwork, insurance approval and validate the procedure before the appointment. I was scheduled for a nerve ablation but the code used was for an epidural injection. The doctor realized the error, but I was already prepped on the table. I chose to move forward with the injection and the staff was really gracious, but I know I will need to come back for the ablation because that is what we know worked for me. A quick verification routine could have avoided this.
