Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 7/7/2019, Dr. Mitra has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Mitra exceeded our expectations as a personable caregiver. Her length of practice and experience could make her short with patients and caregivers but she was not that at all. Dr. Mitra prepared for our appointment regarding my son's rare condition, was knowledgeable about the care he's already received, and expertly counseled me in matters related to my son's long term care. She took time to listen to my concerns and did not invalidate them whatsoever, even if she had an alternate opinion or experience.

Dr. Mitra is excellent. She takes her time listening to every concern and answering every question. We have never felt rushed and she is quick to get her in for a visit if there is an immediate concern.

I have recommended Dr. Mitra to my friends! She is very thorough, and I can tell she really cares about my daughter. She asks a lot of good questions, and explains things about my daughter's care so that I understand it. She has a great relationship with my daughter, who is special needs and not always easy to work with. I'm sad because my daughter has aged out of pediatrics and will be seeing someone new in the future. Hopefully the new doctor is just as awesome!

nurse and doctor were more concerned about child writing on table and walls than giving him crayons and paper to occupy himself. doctor finally gave him paper and a marker. Dr. made me feel like I was wasting her time. asked why i wanted an mri for child. i did not ask for one. talked about the procedure and how it would be a waste of time.

If I could rate *Dr. Mitra any higher I would. She is by FAR the best doctor I have come across. She is incredibly thorough, kind, caring and intelligent. She responds to any questions promptly and in person by phone. She read all of our follow-up. It's a bit of a drive for us to see her but totally worth it.
