Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 6/26/2024, Dr. Stephans has reported the financial relationships with the companies listed below. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Dr Stephans is extraordinary. I consider myself incredibly blessed to be his patient.

We appreciate DR Stephans so very much. Very caring individual.

Dr. Stevens has been a wonderful source of support. Under a new medical condition, it can be scary. Dr. Stevens made me feel so taken care of. He is so knowledgeable, forward thinking and a great listener.

Reviewed on Jul 8, 2024

I have complete confidence in Dr Stephans and feel so fortunate to be one of his patients. He is compassionate, kind and listens as well as reviewing scans and completely explaining the treatment he prescribes.

Reviewed on Jul 8, 2024

Dr Stephon's was very kind and took his time with us he listen and explained what the treatment would be and the side effects could be. When he looked up the prescription he also informed us of the cost. No other physicians has ever done that and we appreciate that

Reviewed on Jul 5, 2024

During the consultation, Dr. Stevens recieved and engaged in a phone call for 15-20 minutes. This call was regarding another patient. Very rude

Dr Kevin Stephens is an exceptional practioner that has gained myself and my wife's ccomplete confidence as to our care and the future.

Reviewed on Jun 7, 2024

Oh my goodness, Dr. Stephans was extraordinary, and I've (unfortunately) seen many providers recently. The Clinic itself was having a tech crisis which resulted in a universal backup, but it certainly wasn't obvious with the time and attention given us by Dr. Stephans. He explained my treatment decisions in understandable yet thorough terms; he went as deep into the science of everything as we wanted (and we wanted to) and generally reassured us without giving false encouragement. He is a superb provider and a calming presence in a terrifying situation.

Reviewed on May 3, 2024

Dr Stephans is a fantastic doctor. He is first off a very gentle, kind man with an outstanding bedside manner. He offered me hope when I didn't have any. He was encouraging at every encounter. I was so impressed with my care at the Cleveland clinic.

Reviewed on Apr 15, 2024

Dr. Stephans is very caring and compassion in an area where hope is often low. I appreciate his attention to my problems and his optimism.

Reviewed on Apr 15, 2024

I received excellent care and communication from Dr. Stephanie and his staff. My huge problem with Cleveland Clinic is the complete failure to be able to schedule tests and treatments. There is no excuse for a patient to have to wait 4 months for an MRI when they have active cancer lesions. Yet CC keeps expanding when they can't take care of the patients altready being treated. This is a life threatening problem!!

Reviewed on Apr 5, 2024

I would recommend Dr Kevin Stephen's to anyone..he explains everything to where a non medical person could understand..He takes his time and never rushes you threw the appointment..Me and my daughter in law who is always with me have the highest regard and respect for Dr Stephens

Reviewed on Apr 4, 2024

Dr Stephans is exceptional.

Reviewed on Apr 4, 2024

Dr. Stephans has earned my trust and respect.

Reviewed on Apr 3, 2024

Care was provided by fellow and then the actual physician. There was a difference. The physician was made aware of the difference.

Reviewed on Mar 15, 2024

Dr. Stephans was very friendly, informative and knowledgeable about is area of medicine. I entered the appointment stressed about having cancer and left feeling informed and very little stress. He's awesome! I use to feel female doctors were smarter and had better bedside manners than male doctors but after seeing Dr. Stephan my mind has changed a little. I'm blessed to have Dr. Stephans as my doctor.

Dr.Stephans is the best physician I have ever encountered. He's never in a hurry and explains things thoroughly in a way that's easy to understand. He treats me with respect and genuinely cares about my health.
