Sometimes it’s hard to see a way out of the things that hold you back.

Depression, anxiety and other mental health conditions can get in the way of living the life you want. And when no one seems to understand what you’re going through, you might feel very alone and not know where to turn for help. At Cleveland Clinic, we understand that issues affecting your mental health are just as real as those that affect your body. Our mental health experts are here to listen without judgement. And guide you through each step of your journey to wellness.

Meet Our Mental Health Team

At Cleveland Clinic, our mental health team includes several different experts from a wide range of specialties. We’ll get to know you, so we can learn about your challenges and personal goals. Then, we’ll design a treatment plan personalized for you.

Our treatment team may see you individually, and if you’re comfortable, we can also see you for follow-up appointments in a group format. You’ll hear this called a shared medical appointment or shared psychological appointment.

For people who’d benefit from more concentrated assessment and treatment by prescribers and talk therapists, we also offer intensive outpatient programs (IOPs). These programs can often help people get through the most difficult times.

Depending on your unique needs, you might work with:

  • Psychiatrists (doctors with mental health expertise who can prescribe and monitor your medications).
  • Advanced practice providers (medical providers, such as nurse practitioners and physician assistants, who can prescribe and monitor your medications).
  • Psychologists (experts in modalities of talk therapy).
  • Social workers (therapists trained in navigating the connections between your mental, physical, economic and social well-being).
