Relationship counseling
Your relationships with your spouse, partner and other family members can be both the most rewarding and most challenging in your life. Our trained and licensed marriage and family therapists can help identify issues within relationships and help you and your loved ones work together toward solutions.
Infertility counseling
If having a family was part of your life plans, learning that you’re living with infertility or reduced fertility can feel as if your world has been shaken. Our specialists can help you cope with a new reality. They can also help you understand what matters to you most as you consider your options for your and your family’s future.
Perinatal and postpartum care
We’re all told that having a baby is supposed to be the happiest time of your life. But that’s not always the case. There can be moments when everything’s going well, and then there can be times that are just tough. We know that changes happen during pregnancy and after having a child, and they can make caring for yourself and your newborn feel challenging. We’ll help you navigate new parenthood and the mental health concerns that can arise after pregnancy.
Navigating menopause
People often talk about how menopause relates to your physical health. But Cleveland Clinic’s women’s behavioral health experts know there’s more to it than that. Menopause can trigger a host of changes to your mental health that are just as important to care for as the physical symptoms you experience. Our experts can help you navigate it all.

It can be hard to know where to start when you seek behavioral health care. What level of care do you need? What kind of therapy should you expect?
We’ll start with a conversation. We’ll get to know you and your concerns and work with you to figure out the best treatment options for you.
There are several options your provider might recommend. Your care plan might include one of these options, or a combination of different methods. Your provider will work with you to find something that’s a good fit for you.
Talk therapy
Talking with a trusted professional about your worries, stresses and successes can help you identify and change unhealthy thought patterns and behaviors. Your Cleveland Clinic team is here to listen, to ask questions and to help you understand why you feel the way you do. Together, we’ll create a plan to overcome any obstacles that are holding you back.
Group therapy
Sometimes, there’s nothing more comforting than knowing you’re not alone. At Cleveland Clinic, you can have group therapy treatment where you’ll share your experiences and hear from others about theirs. You’ll find a supportive and confidential community that understands your challenges, validates your concerns and works together for a healthier future.
Medication
Our minds and bodies are intricately connected. Your hormonal and chemical makeup can affect the way you feel and act. Medication can help bring balance to your body and your mind, letting you think more clearly and chart a course to a healthier, happier life.
Care in the hospital
For some things, you might need continued psychiatric care — probably in the hospital. When mental health and behavioral concerns seriously affect your day-to-day life or put you or others at risk for harm, hospitalization can help you get the intensive treatment you deserve. We provide compassionate care the entire time you’re in the hospital and help you safely work toward recovery.
There are times when you may be admitted to the hospital for physical concerns. Your provider can request a psychiatric consultation where our providers will help you tackle emotional and mental issues that may be affecting you.
Follow-Up Care
Keeping your mental health strong is an ongoing commitment. One that we’ll be here for you every step of the way. It’s a relationship that’s as important to us as it is to you. And your team will be by your side throughout your recovery — helping you navigate any roadblocks that lie ahead. We’ll be your rock, your go-to, your partner in living the life you want.
Taking the Next Step
Life is messy. It’s complicated. Sometimes things are great. And sometimes they get overwhelming, depressing or even scary. That’s OK. Because Cleveland Clinic’s Women’s Behavioral Health team will be by your side through it all. Together, we’ll take on each hill and valley of the rollercoaster that’s life. And we’ll be by your side throughout it all.
