What is this medication?

FOLIC ACID; LACTOBACILLUS (FOE lik AS id; lak toh buh SIL uhs) prevents and treats low levels of folate (vitamin B9) in your body. Folate plays an important role in forming red blood cells and maintaining brain health. Lactobacillus is a probiotic, which supports a healthy balance of bacteria and yeast in your body. This may support digestion and immune system health. The FDA has not evaluated this supplement for any medical use. It may contain ingredients not listed. Discuss all supplements you are taking with your care team. They can provide you with important safety information.

What should I tell my care team before I take this medication?

They need to know if you have any of these conditions:

  • Alcohol use disorder or alcohol cirrhosis
  • Chronic disease
  • Diabetes mellitus
  • Immune system problems
  • Pernicious anemia
  • Vitamin B12 deficient anemia
  • An unusual or allergic reaction to folic acid, Lactobacillus, other B vitamins, other supplements, foods, dyes, or preservatives
  • Pregnant or trying to get pregnant
  • Breast-feeding

How should I use this medication?

Take this supplement by mouth. Take it as directed on the label at the same time every day in between meals.

Talk to your care team about the use of this supplement in children. While this supplement may be prescribed for children as young as 12 years for select conditions, precautions do apply.

Overdosage: If you think you have taken too much of this medicine contact a poison control center or emergency room at once.

NOTE: This medicine is only for you. Do not share this medicine with others.

What if I miss a dose?

If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you can. If it is almost time for your next dose, take only that dose. Do not take double or extra doses.

Where should I keep my medication?
