The Only Single Port Laparoscopic Program in Ohio for Suspected Pelvic Masses

The section of Gynecologic Oncology has the only Single Port Laparoscopic Program in Ohio for suspected pelvic masses, prophylactic salpingo-oophorectomies "removal of ovaries and fallopian tubes" for patients with BRCA1/2 as well as early endometrial cancers. Using this innovative approach surgeons are able to performed laparoscopic/robotic surgery through a single incision, which improves patient recovery. Dr. Pedro Escobar, Director of Minimally Invasive Surgery and Robotics in the section of gynecologic oncology is pleased to announce the availability of this program for selected patients "preliminary results are favorable and encouraging".
