Biography

About Umur Hatipoglu, MD

Umur Hatipoglu, MD, is a staff member in the Respiratory Institute at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus since September 2008. Prior to that appointment, he served as the Chief of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center in Chicago and was appointed Clinical Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Hatipoglu serves as the Quality Improvement Officer of the Respiratory Institute and the medical director of the Center for Comprehensive Care in COPD (COPD Center).

His clinical interests include COPD, acute respiratory distress syndrome, general (diagnostic) pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine.

Dr. Hatipoglu received his medical degree from Istanbul University Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1992. He completed an internal medicine residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago and pulmonary and critical care fellowship at Loyola University and Medical Center. He has current board certifications in pulmonary medicine, sleep medicine and critical care medicine. Dr. Hatipoglu is a member of the American Thoracic Society and Society of Critical Care Medicine.

My provider is great. He always listen patiently to my concerns and explain what ever is needed at that time. He takes the time to review my medications and my lab reports with me. He ask how I'm doing and getting along in regards to my Diagnosis. I feel very relax and know that I'm in good hands.

Dr. Hatipoglu is an excellent pulmonologist! His diagnosis and care got my mild chronic bronchitis under control and I have been asymptomatic.

My provider even called to see if I was on my way, since I was traveling a distance to the clinic. They were overwhelmed that day and he wanted to make sure I got there in time to get my full service care time. I did appreciate that.

I AM 61 HAVE NOT SPENT MUCH TIME WITH DOCTORS AS OF NOW BUT THE TIME I HAVE SPENT HAS NOT BEEN GOOD VERY RUDE , VERY BAD ON TIMES OF APPOINTMENTS AND JUST NOT CARRYING BUT WHEN I CAME TO CLEVELAND CLINIC IT WAS TOTAL DIFFERENT PEOPLE WHO CARE I DRIVE 4 HOURS TO GO THERE AND IT IS WORTH IT THANK YOU
