Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 12/17/2017, Dr. Angermeier has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Our experience with Dr. Angermeier was excellent; had all our questions answered, and given a printout to give to the hospice doctor who needed information from him.

This was mainly a consultation with the doctor to be able to share with the hospice doctor.

Excellent care. First time visit. Referred to Dr. Angermeier. Live in Indiana. Will be scheduled for surgery at Cleveland Clinic. Do not yet have a surgery date.

Doctor did not listen to anything I had to say. I am in a great deal of pain. Doctor did absolutely nothing to help me. The doctor did not do any tests or anything. I now have to take more time off of work and find another doctor. The visit was a complete waste of my time and money.

I can't compliment Dr. Angermeier enough on his professionalism and help as a doctor. All my experiences with him have been great since being referred to him. Surprised that this was the first time I received a survey.

Dr Angermeier has extended my life in the battle of prostrate cancer. He is caring, professional, intelligent, and provides health information in terms we can understand -- he is the best of the best. With are blessed to have him as our doctor as well as live close to CC. With physicians like Dr Angermeier, it is understandable that Cleveland Clinic is rated number one! Thank you for providing this survey.

While my condition may not have many treatment options, Dr gave the impression he'd already made up his mind as to the only available treatment before we really started. Just an impression I got. He may very well be correct, just seemed resigned and did not really make me feel any optimism.
