Industry Relationships
Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 4/8/2024, Dr. Kahn has reported the financial relationships with the companies listed below. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. The doctor asked a lot of questions. However, I don't feel like we were engaged in a conversation about me. He only looked at me maybe 3 times the entire visit. He spent most time clanging on his computer. I felt like I was a product on a conveyor belt and he was just going through the inspection list to get to the next item on the belt.

Dr. Kahn addresses my medical issues holistically and has tremendous expertise, compassion and commitment to his patients. He is the only doctor who has taken me seriously enough re: my fatigue to try to help me with it. Highest regards and recommendation!

Dr Kahn a wonderful doctor

Dr. Kahn is at the top of my list for trying to figure out my health issue. He has referred me to specialists in other areas as well as ran tests to rule out as much as possible. He is keeping a close eye of my kidneys for possible issues as well as some family history of kidney disease. I greatly appreciate the time that Dr. Kahn has dedicated to helping me through this time of uncertainty. I highly recommend Dr. Kahn to anyone looking for a nephrologist.

I would highly recommend Dr. Kahn and the services at South Pointe Hospital. The receptionist was friendly and assisted me upon arrival as well as for lab work recommended during my visit. Dr. Kahn responds to lab work on My Chart in a very timely manner. I prefer to drive to Cleveland Clinic to receive medical services than visiting my local hospital (2 miles away) because I receive quality care and the doctors talk to me as a person and genuinely appear to care about me as a person and not just a number that you spend 3 minutes with.

In these critical times, we live in its important to take time out with patients, Dr Kahn was a little hyper, which means that he didn't take time out to go over my concerns, I felt rushed, I would like to get a 2nd opinion, or maybe Dr Kahn can be more relaxed and more concerned, I do realize that he may be overwhelmed with patients if so that may be a problem thank you

Takes forever to get any appointment with Kidney doctors. When you call the first available can be 2 1/2 months out for an appointment. Dr Kahn said he had no appointments for the three months I need to come back that for my health I needed to find another doctor who could help me . He was a kind and nice person ordered all the labs and test I would need for a new Doctor
