Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 10/3/2018, Dr. Amps has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. Love Dr Amps! He rebuilt my spine, and I am forever thankful!!

I came to the clinic due to the confidence level and overall handling of my healthcare in my home state. I was VERY LUCKY that I was able to see a neurosurgeon while I was in town and not have to schedule and come back. Dr. Amps took the time to answer my questions and made me feel at ease. I have a great level of respect for your facility. I have a follow up in October. Thank you

I can not say enough good about Dr. Amps. I had received very little information from previous providers in my home state. Dr. Amps took time to answer questions I asked and explained what surgeries if any may be needed in the future if my symptoms worsen. I came to the clinic with a heavy heart about my future health, I left cautiously optimistic with knowledge that I may never need anything . I follow up in October with Dr. Amps.

Dr. Amps has always been very kind and helpful. He did a great job on my lower back surgery and is now treating me cervical spine.

Reviewed on Dec 3, 2018

Dr. Amps was meeting with me to do a one year follow up from back surgery that I had with a different surgeon that is no longer with Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Amps was did a great job of understanding the history of the situation and making sure that I was comfortable to move forward with no questions.

I had to wait in the waiting room approximately 30 minutes past my appointment time--however, I did not feel like I was being rushed during my appointment, and I feel that dr. amps does a great job of making all his patients feel that way, so it did not bother me that they were running behind- I think that spending time with patients that need the extra few minutes is important. I may have been a little more upset if I was waiting for more then an hour, but that did not happen.

I SHOWED UP ONE WEEK EARLY FOR MY APPOINTMENT. MUCH TO MY AMAZEMENT . THE STAFF ASKED THE DOCTOR IF THERE WAS A POSSIBILITY THAT I MIGHT BE SEEN THAT DAY. STILL MORE AMAZING , THE DOCTOR COMPLETED HISS APPOINTMENTS, STAYED LATER AND SAW ME JUST AF IF I HAD BEEN ON THE SCHEDULE. DR. AMPS WAS VERY CONCERNED ABOUT MY WELL-BEING , TOOK TIME TO ASK AND ANSWER QUESTIONS. HE SET ME UP FOR ADDITIONAL MRI'S AND STATED THAT HE WOULD HELP GET THEM AUTHORIZED SO WE CAN PROCEED TO GET ME WELL. THIS WAS A REMARKABLE EXPERIENCE BEYOND THE NORM. BRAVO TO DR. JEREMY AMPS & STAFF ! I WAS PLEASANTLY & CAREFULLY TREATED BY ALL PARTIES INVOLVED .

I am grateful for Dr. Amps care he listens to me; however once I was called, I waited over an hour for Dr. Amps to come in. I know the Doctors time is valuable, but my time is just valuable, if the Doctor was delayed someone should/could have told me.
