Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 3/13/2019, Dr. Smith has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. I absolutely LOVE Dr Smith, she is an amazing doctor/human being she's always had concern for my problem and amazing solutions to correct them, she's know a lot about her field and has always in 13 provided me and my family with nothing but exceptional care! she could move to Mexico and I'd still find a way to schedule an appt with her! there are times I had no where to turn and she gave me theproper advise and information I needed she is one of the best docs I've ever met!

Dr Smith called me with my results herself and even offered to see me early for my next appointment as I have some anxiety with my pregnancy. Very compassionate and answered all my questions.

Doctor Smith was absolutely wonderful. I will recommend her. The answers to my questions were understood with ease. Thank you very much for the help in my time of need.

Dr. Smith was unaware that there was no longer screening mammography done at Brunswick location, but called me personally to apologize for this recent change in services.

I was having a minor health issue and specifically waited for an appt with Dr. Smith versus going to an urgent care. She is very kind, puts me at ease (knowing I am a generally nervous patient!), and I am most comfortable with her. I followed her to the new Brunswick location specifically to maintain her as my healthcare provider.

very caring and empathetic towards my situation. Dr Smith called me 2 times to check in and answer any questions.

Reviewed on Jan 28, 2019

Dr. Smith was the worst Dr. I have ever dealt with. She is rude, condescending, and rough. She has no place in a field "helping" people feel better. I have booked my continued appointments with another OBGYN. After this appointment I heard about and it appears everyone else has the same opinion of her.

Reviewed on Jan 28, 2019

I will continue to recommend the Cleveland Clinic. I will never recommend Dr. Smith.

Dr. Smith always puts me at ease. She is such a great doctor.

Reviewed on Dec 20, 2018

My experience was very poor with this doctor. She came in 45 minutes late, was very rude, cold & I basically felt like I needed to, " Suck it up, deal with it, it's part of life." I had an issue, never once took a stitch of clothing off so she could take a look to make sure what was going on. She just assumed what it was & prescribed medication. Needless to say I'm still having issues. I had to wait to get this appointment, wait 45 minutes to be seen when I was the first patient of the day, then deal with this doctor's "attitude" towards me. GYN is a sensitive subject as it is, then to have a doctor make you feel so uncomfortable is unacceptable.

Keisha Smith is my favorite doctor, she is excellent at her craft.
