To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 6/17/2018, Dr. Al-Ashkar has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. Dr. Al Ashkar is one of the very best doctors I have ever had. She was very caring, compassionate and easy to talk to. She llistened to everything I had to say including a very thorough and detailed review of all of my past mefical records some of which were from other hospitals/Drs. She explained everything very thoroughly and in a very understandable fashion. She gave helpful information and recommendations during the visit. She ordered some labwork and was terrific in responding right away on MyChart as soon as the labwork was done telling me her thoughts snd her recommendations. I have already recommended Dr Al Askar to others. She is one of the best Drs I have ever been to.

Dr Al Ashkar is very busy and sometimes it is difficult to get follow up appts within the requested time frame. A six-month follow-up is usually 7 months because of her availability. But, she is the best, so unless its an emergency, a reasonable wait is expected and acceptable.
