S. Beth Bierer, PhD, is Professor of Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University and Director of Assessment and Evaluation at the Health Education Campus. She is also an adjunct professor in Cleveland State University's Department of Counseling, Administration, Supervision, and Adult Education and serves as faculty within the Education Institute's Center for Educational Resources. Additionally, Dr. Bierer directs a postdoctoral fellowship in medical education offered by the Cleveland Clinic's Education Institute.
Dr. Bierer's scholarship focuses on programmatic assessment, competency-based education, program evaluation, and educational research methods. She is active in several professional societies and reviews for medical education journals.
Dr. Bierer received her BS degree and MEd degree in education from Bowling Green State University in Bowling Green, Ohio and a PhD in evaluation and measurement at Kent State University in Kent, Ohio.
