I asked the provider for thoughts on personalize implants versus off-the-shelf. I put the words into her mouth that she felt there was no need for off-the-shelf because they were able to mix and match the variety of sizes available for knee implants from striker. When I asked about an osteotomy, She told me I was a candidate for it but it would only last 10 years and then I would have to have a knee implant anyways so why do that? Considering I'll be 70 years old next year, there wasn't really a lot of discussion about it before it was dismissed. Finally she mentioned that there was fluid in my knee, but didn't discuss if it should be drained you're not considering I was in a lot of pain and wondering if it might help.As far as the timing of surgery, when I asked for a Cortizone injection parentheses which I have never had before and parentheses she said if I had one and it didn't work I would have to wait three months before the surgery anyway. But there was no discussion as to the likelihood of it working or not working. I just felt like I wasThe best her only option but with no real logic behind that inferring.
