Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 4/2/2024, Dr. Reed has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. This was the second visit I have had with Dr. Reed. She performed an endometrial biopsy during this visit. She finished my procedure even as the nurses came to help me when I thought I may pass out. (I was relieved she was able to get a good sample).Dr. Reed is extremely knowledgeable (also about medical conditions not related to OB/GYN). She helped me get a clear understanding of procedures I am considering so I could make well informed decisions about my care.

If you have to call for an appointment the wait times are too long. It is frustrating and wastes time. It would be better if we could actually speak to appointment desk when we call for the actual doctor. UH does offer this.

Dr. Reed has absolutely no bedside manner. She was condescending and judgmental. She did not provide any helpful answers to questions I had, instead gave me vague and unhelpful answers. She was also rushing through the entire appointment and clearly had better things to do than talk with me.

I went to Dr. Reed with concerns about my physical and reproductive health and she focused on mental health being the cause. I recently went to a psychiatrist and they disagreed with the way Dr. Reed dismissed my concerns and even the psychiatrist is concerned I have a hormonal/medical condition causing my symptoms that Dr. Reed neglected to look into.

Dr. Reed is excellent!

Reviewed on Dec 15, 2023

The provider accused me of being a smoker but I was recently diagnosed with influenza an after being on a cruise in a very smoky casino. Then her solution was to put me on hormone medication which I declined three times. She said there was no need to exam me because I was just seen in the ER and had a us in October. She said no one will do an us and put me to sleep due to complications with my cervix in the past. I felt she was very passive and not willing to listen to me as a patient she was just set in prescribing medication.
