Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 10/4/2018, Dr. Orr has reported the financial relationships with the companies listed below. Dr. Orr is amazing. i am not a patient patient and forget that healing takes time. i was a little discouraged thinking that I would always be stuck with the degree this seems to be fusing at and left aggravated. i should have known to trust him.

Had issue filling pain med at pharmacy after discharge. Pharmacy needed a code from the doctor. After numerous calls to the hosp. the doctor answered the page 5 min. before pharmacy closed. Would have had no pain med, 3 days after major surgery. Unacceptable!

Dr. Orr went beyond what two previous doctors had done. They relied entirely on my MRI. He ordered addition X-rays. He also was more thorough in his explanation of my condition and should me the MRI and where the problems were and why he was recommending the procedure he would use.

It was a long wait. We were there longer than expected. After the wait we talked to the doctor for 3-5 minutes. I am in major pain daily, witch makes the wait difficult.

I went to see Dr. Orr for a post surgery check-up. My insurance company (WellCare) is out of network. In the past I never had to be concerned about a pre-appointment authorization. At this appointment upon arrival I was told I needed authorization for the appointment (x-rays & Dr. visit). I was never notified that I needed this authorization. I drove 3 hours from the Buffalo, NY area for this appointment. I highly commend Meraly Rodriguez for her assistance so I was able to have the appointment with Dr. Orr. I was an extremely stressful situation.
