Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 8/14/2018, Dr. Kosunick has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. The care provider is very thorough, friendly, knowledgeable and appears genuinely concerned about providing excellent service. I have visited an optometrist yearly for many years, and the level of quality care that I have experienced at the Clinic over the past three years far surpasses the treatment elsewhere.

I am seeing Dr. Gregory Kosunick, OD as I have Anterior Basement Membrane Dystrophy which causes extremely dry eyes and prior to seeing Dr K., my eyes hurt because of their dryness and often times, my lids were even swollen. After my initial visit with this doctor, I felt I finally had a doctor that cared about me and that my condition was not imagined. He took the time to explain my condition to me and while I don't understand everything about it, I am confident that he does and that he is helping me get relief. This doctor cares about his patients and I am very thankful to be in his care.

. I'd like to express my sincere thanks to Dr. Kosunick for his professional, patient and caring attitude exhibited during my recent appointment. I have not had confidence or peace of mind that my eye issues were being thoroughly examined, and reviewed with me, since I saw Dr John Costin for my cataract surgery and subsequent follow-up apppoimtments with him. However, I came away from this appointment KNOWING I was in good hands and that Dr. Kosunick truly cares about his patients and their concerns. He took the time to thoroughly examine my eye issues; then he made sure I understood those issues and what options were available to try to give me relief. He even gave me a brochure and helped me register on-line to help me defray some of the cost of the very expensive eyedrops we are trying. Dr. Kosunick is an asset to the Cleveland Clinic and a true blessing to his patients.
