Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 4/6/2022, Dr. Mehta has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. I would NEVER recommend this provider. Her lack of explanation, empathy, and plan of care was astounding. She threw a tray from the ultrasound machine while she had a vaginal probe inside me and said "damn" when the assistant asked if she was throwing things. Absolutely horrid.

The nurse was great but the Dr. Was a little crabby and seemed like she didn't really want to deal with me and I didn't have a lot of questions or anything .

The doctor was just moving fast and not really listening to me just rushing to be done

Dr. Mehta is wonderful! She's very compassionate and really cares about her patients. I've been going to her for over 30 years! You will not find a better doctor.

The worst experience I've had going to a gynecologist! I had no answers what so ever, was not listened to by the doctor. I felt as though I was looked down upon because I didn't want to go on birth control, as a woman I feel as though I should be able to decide whether or not I should be on it and not feel judged for not wanting it. Also, I felt beyond uncomfortable talking to the doctor I felt as though I wasn't able to talk without annoyance, my boyfriend asked a simple question and the doctor got very defensive and left the room, never returned back and we were in there for 5+ minutes, I bawled my eyes out and the lady who took my blood was also rude. It was a terrible experience in general, never in my life was I so humiliated and belittled by a doctor in my life, I felt way more comfortable with the nurse than the actual doctor
