Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 5/7/2020, Dr. Model has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Dr. Model is very prompt in replying to any of my chart message questions I send. She sends informative messages after she receives results of my most recent blood work.

Both my husband and I were immediately happy that she asked me to explain my health issue from the very beginning and cared about me as a patient not just look the stack of medical records sent by my physicians office. She acknowledged my frustration and offered other options to help diagnose the root cause or triggers of why I continue to have flare ups and not recover to my base self.

Dr. Model was outstanding. This was my first visit with a rheumatologist in many years and my initial visit w/ Dr. Model. She was knowledgable, she could impart and communicate that information to me in an understandable manner, she gave me info about my options and about the next steps. Good knowledge + good people skills = good doctor.

Dr Model is the best which is why I come in from out of state and pay out of pocket to see her.

Doctor came into exam room said hello and proceeded to go on computer and read it and typed into it, not telling me what she was reading or typing. I wish she would have read my chart prior to seeing me. It was my 2nd visit seeing her, so I'll give her the benefit. I would have appreciated more conversation about how I felt. She did mention a new medication and gave me a brochure to read. I would have liked more discussion. She did request blood work and said she would get back to me, as of yet haven'r heard from her about results. She told me to increase meds to 10mg and let he know how I feel. I have to do that.

Doctor listened to my concerns and helped me understand my concerns.

Dr. Model appears to be very clinical and is lacking on the bedside manner. The questions asked and information gathered could have been done by a nurse or physicians assistant. The only recommendations I get are to be put on more powerful and more expensive medications.
