About David Martin, MD,MPH

David Owen Martin, MD, MPH, is an electrophysiologist in the Robert and Suzanne Tomsich Department of Cardiovascular Medicine in The Sydell and Arnold Miller Family Heart & Vascular Institute at Cleveland Clinic. He is board-certified in internal medicine and cardiology.

Specialty/Clinical interests: Abnormal heart rhythms, long QT syndrome, atrial fibrillation, supraventricular tachycardia, ventricular tachycardia, biventricular pacemaker, catheter ablation, lead extraction, implantable cardioverter defibrillator, pacemaker implant, pulmonary vein isolation ablation

Education and Training: Dr. Martin earned his medical degree from the University of Alabama in Birmingham, where he finished first in his class. He then became a clinical fellow of Harvard Medical School and completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He completed a fellowship in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology at Duke University Medical Center in Durham, North Carolina.

Publications and Speaking: Dr. Martin is a frequent lecturer at regional and national professional meetings. He is also a reviewer of research articles published in the American Heart Journal, Journal of Electrocardiology, and Epidemiology.
