Industry Relationships

Industry Relationships

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.

To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

As of 7/29/2018, Dr. Bambakidis has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. In general, patients should feel free to contact their doctor about any of the relationships and how the relationships are overseen by Cleveland Clinic. Public Health Service-Reportable Financial Conflicts of Interest. Cleveland Clinic scientists and physicians engage in basic, translational and clinical research activities, working to solve health problems, enhance patient care and improve quality of life for patients. Interactions with industry are essential to bringing the researchers' discoveries to the public, but can present the potential for conflicts of interest related to their research activities. My experiences with Dr. Bambakafas and my healthcare team were perfect in every way.

had to wait to long to get appointment with doctor.

I like this provider, however, it is extremely difficult to get a follow up appt. that is shorter than 3 months. My next appt. (follow up after blood work and EMG) isn't until April!! 7 months!! I understand there are many patients with more severe conditions than mine. However, I believe 7 months is too long to wait for any follow up appt. Perhaps an additional physician or two could help lighten the load.

I was referred to this Provider/Specialist by my PCP; the scheduling office tried to tell me that I could not see him and tried to get me into someone else. I insisted on this Provider, but had to wait 3 months for an appointment.

The Provider's instructions were very good for follow-up care, but the Clinic is horrible; I have to wait 6 months for an available follow-up visit.

The Doctor was just coming off Hospital duty and was running late. I was not informed of this until the Dr. himself told me and apologized.

Dr. Bambikidis is always running 30-50 minutes late on his appointments, thus I wait and must also pay more for parking.

Dr. Bambakidis is one of the best physicians that I've seen at the clinic. I highly recommend him to anyone.

In my recent consultation, Dr Bambakidis was excellent! He was very thorough in all aspects of the visit; medical history, current medications, examination, plan of care, and follow up! He was so respectful and courteous! An excellent listener and and displayed much compassion! He seemed so genuine in his role as a Truly Caring Provider! Dr B. even went out of his way and walked with me out to the waiting room and scheduling desk to be sure I was taken care of promptly! I highly would recommend him to family and friends!!

There is a delay in getting appointments. Providers' staff is so/so in follow up regarding proper medication. Provider is very attentive and courteious.

Dr. Bambakidis was very attentive to me. he asked a lot of questions and listened top my comments. I appreciated the amount of time that he spent with me.

Reviewed on Jun 6, 2018

Although I did wait a good amount of time and the doctor was behind. He still spent a good deal of time with me understanding my problem. I don't mind waiting when I am provided the kind of care Dr. B provided me with!

had to call 3 times to request correct prescription dosage. after getting the correc prescription furnished to pharmacy, the record of visit to Dr. still showed incorrect prescription dosage. extremely poor service handling the prescription, for which physician apologized. poor staff response, not physician's fault.

Reviewed on Apr 3, 2018

I thought Dr. Bambakidis was extremely thorough, and did not get the feeling that he was rushing through my examination so he could see the next patient, which eased my mind.
