About Edward Maytin, MD, PhD

Edward Maytin, MD, is Section Head of Molecular Dermatology in the Department of Dermatology, as well as a Staff Member in the Department of Biomedical Engineering at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus. He is also an Assistant Professor of Chemistry and Biomedical Engineering at Cleveland State University and Assistant Professor in the Department of Molecular Medicine at the Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of Case Western Reserve University.

Dr. Maytin earned his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in Rochester, NY. He completed an internship at Roger Williams Medical Center in Providence, RI. He completed a residency in dermatology and fellowship in endocrinology through Harvard Medical School and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, Mass.

He is a Diplomat of the National Board of Medical Examiners, as well as the American Board of Dermatology.$0$0Dr. Maytin is a member of several medical societies, including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Society of Investigative Dermatology and the American Cancer Society.$0$0He has published a number of articles, reviews, chapters and editorials on various topics in dermatology.

Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Dr. Mayten Is very calm and talks while he was discussing the medication he was applying to my feet and legs. He makes you feel like you are the most important patient ( I'm sure he makes all his patients feel this way). He interacts extremely well with the medical team - this is a very comforting situation as a patient.
