Originally from Norman, Oklahoma (Boomer Sooner) he received his undergraduate degree in Colorado then matriculated to medical school at Emory University School of medicine in Atlanta. At Emory he received his medical degree as well as a master's in public health in epidemiology. While he was finishing up his MD, he developed an interest in autoimmune disorders and worked researchers from the CDC to better understand the role of stress in causing inflammation.
After finishing medical school, he completed his internal medicine residency and was elected Chief medical resident at University of Colorado internal medicine residency program. Upon finishing residency, he took a year to do what he loves best which is travel the world for a year with his wife.
He became interested in functional medicine when his mother became ill with rheumatoid arthritis. She was able to take a food first approach working with her group of providers to feel better.
He began practicing a hybrid of internal medicine and functional medicine at the University of Colorado and was recruited to Cleveland clinic to practice functional medicine full-time and hopefully develop a men's health program.
His practice philosophy centers on taking a systems-based functional medicine approach to the prevention, treatment and management of chronic illness. Through curiosity and kindness, he hopes to help you navigate your health journey to meet your personalized health goals.
He loves to be outside, practice Brazilian jujitsu, play Chet Baker on the piano, travel, eat good food and spend time with his wife. He has a cat named Robert Palmer. He is very excited to be at the Cleveland Clinic.
