Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.
As of 8/19/2018, Dr. Venesy has reported no financial relationship with industry that is applicable to this listing. I have been treated by 56 doctors since I was hurt in 2008. There has not been a better Doctor involved in my care than Dr. Vennesy. She was kind, patient, informative. listened to my concerns and despite this being our first treatment appointment together, she came up with a plan of action that I was very happy with. I can't recommend Dr. Vennesy highly enough.

This was my first visit to Dr Venesy and I found her to be an excellent listener. She asked pertinent questions that helped me to explain my medical situation. She is the first Dr who has been able to identify the condition in my feet and upper legs. I now know this problem is connected to my lower back and spine problems. it was a relief to find such a good doctor.

I am very sceptical and cautious with any medications that I put into my body. I was offered two medications; to help with inflammation and the tingling feeling that's running down my arm and into my hand. A seizure medication was offered to help with this tingling, immediately I declined as I am not having seizures but I do understand why this is being offered; it effects another part of the brain that will make this sensation down my arm and in my hand go away. The possible risks acvociated with this was enough for me de decline. My provider did not offer much information at all but quickly respected my decision. I'm thankful she wasn't pushy or rude but I also wish she would have explained more. She also suggested a steroid to help with the inflammation, I have a diagnosed anxiety disorder, this made zero sense to me as steroids can increase anxiety. Again she was respectful of my decision but offered no information on said steroid. Had I known what she might like to perceive I could have done a little research and possibly tried something. All these medications are simply a band-aid and I'm really not interested in covering up my symptoms until they are unbearable; then I'm more apt to do so. More info would have been so helpful.
