Christina Dookhan, MD, FACC, is a Non Invasive and Sports Cardiologist in the Section of Regional Cardiovascular Medicine of The Tomsich Family Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, Miller Family Heart, Vascular & Thoracic Institute. She sees patients at Medina Medical Office Building and Independence Family Health Center.

Experience: Dr. Dookhan has more than 15 years’ experience in the field of cardiology. Her training at the first ever Sports cardiology fellowship program in the country has equipped her with the skills to care for athletes ranging from recreational to professional/ elite. In addition to taking care of patients in her ambulatory practice, she also is experienced in caring for hospitalized patients.
Dr. Dookhan is board certified in internal medicine and cardiovascular disease. She is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology.

Education: Dr. Dookhan earned her medical degree from University of the West Indies (UWI) Faculty of Medical Sciences, St. Augustine, Trinidad and Tobago. She completed her Internal Medicine internship and residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine in Miami, FL. She received her Cardiology fellowship training at Augusta University Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA, followed by clinical and research Sports Cardiology training at the Cardiovascular Performance Program, Massachusetts General Hospital, Harvard Medical School in Boston, Mass.
Research, Publications and Speaking: Dr. Dookhan has coauthored papers on the diagnosis and treatment of many different heart conditions published in peer-reviewed medical journals. She has presented her research, case studies and posters at state and national medical meetings including the American College of Cardiology and American Society of Nuclear Cardiology.
About Dr. Dookhan: “I feel very humbled to provide optimal care to patients with a spectrum of cardiovascular diseases. My goal for athletes and highly active individuals is to deliver individualized care to those at risk for or with established cardiovascular disease, with the intention of ensuring their safe return to physical activity and/ or sports. As an athlete, I appreciate the importance of regular exercise and sports participation in improving overall health.”
Leisure Activities: In her leisure time, Dr. Dookhan enjoys running including participating in road races, serving as team physician at several of the largest marathons in the country, traveling and attending professional basketball games.

My first visit with this doctor.She was very nice& Competent.we discussed my meds& she gave me a ekg to look for a concern with my aorta.she showed my the results & why she felt I should get an Ecco to get a better look.She explained why this could be a concern with the taking of one of my meds. I am very pleased to have her as my cardiologist as I believe she will be very thorough with my care.

Dr Doohan was unprofessional and unprepared. Very clear she had not read my chart or any notes prior to talking to me. Did not feel comfortable with this provider and will likely be seeking a new cardiologist as a result of this poor experience away from Cleveland Clinic.
