Julian Perry, MD, joined the Cleveland Clinic's Cole Eye Institute in 1999 after completing an ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery fellowship at Jules Stein Eye Institute, University of California Los Angeles, where he was a Heed Foundation AOS-Knapp Fellow.
Dr. Perry received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, New York, where he was the McGraw-Hill Book Prize Winner, and elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Perry completed his residency at the Wills Eye Hospital, Philadelphia, where he won the Shipman Prize for best research paper. He completed fellowships at the Wilmer Eye Institute, Johns Hopkins University, and at the Jules Stein Eye Institute, University of California, Los Angeles where he won the Clinical Research Award. He is the Cole Eye Institute's senior surgeon trained through an American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery approved fellowship. Dr. Perry was awarded the Marvin Quickert Thesis Award upon his introduction to the Society.
His specialty interests involve aesthetic and reconstructive oculofacial surgery, including cosmetic eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty), cosmetic forehead and cheek lifting, cosmetic Botox® injections, cosmetic facial filler injections, cosmetic oculofacial surgery, and all aspects ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery. He also specializes in lacrimal and orbital surgery. His clinical interests include all types of eyelid, eyebrow, forehead and cheek surgeries, including skin cancers, tumors, trauma and other conditions within these regions.
His research interests include new techniques, materials and devices in oculofacial surgery, novel surgeries for eyelid reconstruction and droopy eyelids, and new surgical techniques for orbital decompression .He has studied cosmetic upper facial surgery (blepharoplasty, midface lifting, forehead lifting, Botox®/neurtoxin injections, and facial filler injections) in Beverly Hills, California.
He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology, American Society of Oculfacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and the Cleveland Ophthalmological Society. He has participated on numerous committees for the American Academy of Ophthalmology, including its Annual Meeting Program Committee, and he has served as Sub-Specialty Day Chairman. He has participated on number committees for the American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, including the Executive Committee while serving as Program Chairman.
He serves on the Editorial Boards of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and Ocular Surgery News, and as an Executive Editor of American Journal of Ophthalmology. He has co-authored a text on ocular oncology, written approximately three-dozen book chapters and over one-hundred peer-reviewed papers. Dr. Perry is also a member of the United States Food and Drug Administration's Ophthalmic Devices Panel. He holds a patent on a novel lacrimal drainage manometer device.Dr. Perry is a Fellowship Preceptor of an American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery approved fellowship. He received the Cole Eye Institute Resident Teacher of the Year Award in 2003, 2004, and 2009. He has been recognized by Best Doctors in America, Best Doctors®, Inc., and Best Doctors in Cleveland, Cleveland magazine. He was awarded the Lester Jones Surgical Anatomy Award in 2015 from the American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.
Dr. Perry directs one of two-dozen fellowships approved by the American Society of Oculofacial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and he has trained surgeons working at the Cleveland Clinic and around the country. He has participated in many named lectureships, grand rounds and visiting professorships, and he lectures nationally and internationally.
Dr. Perry also specializes in blepharoplasty eyelid surgery, cosmetic eyelid and facial surgery, cosmetic neurotoxin and filler injections, and forehead brow lift treatments.

I have been a caregiver at CCF as well as patient, for over 19 years. Dr Julian Perry's office/practice Is by far one of the BEST RUN medical offices I have ever had been a patient of/interacted with. Dr Perry's practice Is a well-oiled machine. There are always prompt answers, no hold times, no wait times, respectful, courteous office staff, and reasonable appointment accessibility.

Dr Perry is extremely knowledgeable, skilled physician - I have complete and total trust and confidence in all his suggestions. Besides being the best-of-the-best in his field, he is also a great listener and a truly caring person. He truly has personal pride and care in making sure his patient looks and feels their best - this is very clear. He is incredibly efficient but never hurried. He listens thoughtfully. I have referred many people to his amazing care and will continue to do so.

Dr. Perry learned about my problems that day, and solved them. For my situation it's never going to be a 100% solution, but the first steps we took solved 90% of the issue on day one. For the first time in 15 years of having this issue, I have hope. I couldn't be more grateful.

Again the entire medical staff was great. Dr, Perry's bedside manner is wonderful. I never felt rushed and he answered all my questions as we talked through my surgical options. We even had some non medical conversation. I mentioned to the PA how great he was. The PA was also kind, compassionate, and caring. Overall it was a great experience.

Dr. Perry diagnosed my problem easily - I believe this was due to his vast experience in his specialty. His explanations of the cause of the problem and possible treatments were very easy for me to understand. Risks and benefits of surgical options were also very well presented.
