“In the office, I love working with patients and getting to know them and their families. Treating someone who needs help is more than knowing statistical data and dispensing medication. It’s helping them to understand the whole of their condition and to instill in them, and their families, a knowledge about their condition so that they can work with me to improve their heart health. Together, we are partners in managing their care.”
“In the catheterization laboratory, nothing is more gratifying than restoring blood flow in the heart of a patient who is critically ill due to a blocked artery. One minute they are gravely ill, the next they are stable and feeling much better. I believe I truly make a difference in patient’s lives and the lives of their loved ones. And I continue to work with these patients after they go home to help them prevent another heart attack and live normal lives. To me, caring for patients is a lifelong commitment. I cherish all the patients I have cared for in my career.”
Leisure Activities: Outside of work, Dr. Tamis-Holland enjoys spending time with her children and husband and staying in close touch with her sisters, nieces and nephews. She also enjoys baking, cake decorating, knitting, and hiking. Whenever possible she loves to travel and explore new regions.

Doctor T-H was extremely thorough... Spent a considerable amount of time with me. She had your folks work me in for an echo stress test, which provided a valuable piece of information effecting my treatment. She also personally called me a couple of days later (7:30 PM on a Friday night!), to give me feedback on the test results, and what they meant. Very pleasant surprise... Didn't expect that level of care
