Industry Relationships
Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists may collaborate with the pharmaceutical or medical device industries to help develop medical breakthroughs or provide medical expertise or education. Cleveland Clinic strives to make scientific advances that will benefit patient care and support outside relationships that promise public benefit. In order for the discoveries of Cleveland Clinic physicians' and scientists' laboratories and investigations to benefit the public, these discoveries must be commercialized in partnership with industry. As experts in their fields, Cleveland Clinic physicians and scientists are often sought after by industry to consult, provide expertise and education.
To assure professional and commercial integrity in such matters, Cleveland Clinic maintains a program that reviews these collaborations and, when appropriate, puts measures in place to minimize bias that may result from ties to industry. Cleveland Clinic publicly discloses the names of companies when (i) its physicians/scientists receive $5,000 or more per year (or, in rare cases, equity or stock options) for speaking and consulting, (ii) its physicians/scientists serve as a fiduciary, (iii) its physicians/scientists receive or have the right to receive royalties or (iv) its physicians/ scientists hold any equity interest for the physician's/scientist's role as inventor, discoverer, developer, founder or consultant.* In publicly disclosing this information, Cleveland Clinic tries to provide information as accurately as possible about its physicians' and scientists' connections with industry.

Dr. Beverly-Waters has been my true hero in pain relief. She always listens to my concerns and answers all of my questions. I credit her and her expertise with the progress I've made. Her treatment and prescribed program/exercises has truly made a difference in my quality of life. She has been encouraging and confident that I would get better. Because of this, it helped me maintain confidence that I would get better too. The Cleveland Clinic is lucky to have her!

Thanks to the doc and the entire osteopathic team that's helped diagnose my issue over a few visits. After reviewing evidence and commentary, she had the suspicion that it was an atypical presentation of thoracic outlet syndrome caused by an old seatbelt injury and declined over the years. Her targeted therapy was exactly what I needed, and this is a major step towards feeling better. It was a problem I was chasing for a long while. Thanks also to the rest of the practice team who helped me from my first visit until now.

Dr. Beverly-Waters has a great bedside manner. She is confident and very capable in her treatment, and she is a great trainer for student doctors, allowing them the freedom to practice their skills under her supervision, while ensuring that the patient gets the proper attention from her. She teaches while she treats, and I appreciate the explanations she is providing to the student doctor.
